today i had to care for a home health patient and it was a very hard day.
the woman i was caring for has curvature of the spice very badly and because of this has a very large hump on her back. this has also caused her breathing to be restricted since her lungs are unable to expand fully.
after stayng with her for a few hours, trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. i helded her hand as she took her final breaths. having to fight human nature and wanting to help her. i just had to sit back and let nature take its course. its one of the hardest parts of the job, but i know it has to be done and at least i know i was able to make her passing a little easier.
i love my job, but sometimes it just takes so much out of me physically, mentally, and emotionally.
hope everyone else had a better day.
