It depends on your dosages...as well HCG does not actually "prevent" shutdown. Are you on TRT?

But you can't be under the misconception that this is going to restart your HPTA while you're on.

What it does is trick your testes into thinking there is LH present so they blow up. But there is far too much estrogen present for the HPTA to restart. You have to come off for a while for that.

Is that where the time on = time off comes in? or does the HPTA restart within a certain (individual body dependant) time frame say a couple months or so of bieng off regardless of how long you were on?

wow, thats the question i looking for...

im considering THT/HRT, at 35 im still looking to have kids. what would be a safe conservative regime with a trt. my dr wants me to go on a 200mg cyp every 7-10 days, with HCG and Aridex, but i dont want to go permantly sterile...

Only your body can restart it, but HCG keeps the boys working and plump so that when you do come off recovery can be quicker. In an atrophied state it takes longer to recover. Take it too far, it's possible you wont recover, period.

b rad, making babies is not an issue. You don't become sterile from HRT. You would take HMG for a while.

dellyo, yes it will kickstart the testes so that the HPTA will restart. HCG is like LH and your testes get tricked into thinking it's that time again to go back to work. Since that's the hardest thing to get started, your testes, the HCG is a good idea to give them a head start.

So basically if your not shut down to much, HCG wouldnt really be necassary. If your testies are still producing, just at a decreased rate then you really dont need HCG, just some estrogen blocker to reduce estrogen in your system.
