then why does everyone say not to mix your post work shake with anything? I know I have read that numerous times. Have read that adding fats does slow absorbtion a bunch of times as well. All misinformation?
It's a common misconception...fats are slowly digested, so adding them to a meal will slow the rate of digestion of the WHOLE meal...but the protein that you eat still gets absorbed and digested the same way, same speed.
I used a marathon analogy in another thread. Some runners are fast, and some are slow...so adding a really slow marathoner would increase the total time of the race, but it wouldn't change the time that the winner ran, would it?
Same deal with a meal...fats are the white guys, proteins are the black guys, and carbs are the kenyans.
