My calf hurts real bad. please read.

I'll begin at the very start of everything, just in case anything that happened could have caused this. I've been injecting some Test Prop and rotating spots, soreness have been painful. I started taking tbol 70mg/day and winny 50mg/day on the same day. So I injected 1cc of test prop in my left calf 75% to the top. That was three days ago. This morning the soreness lessened and I went to the gym. At the gym my calf started to hurt a little, it was where there is usually some little bump that was never painful or red, about 7 inches above the ankle on the outside. It is also a place where I've never injected anything before. Later at work it began to get more and more painful and bigger every minute. It was actually numb at one point. I developed a moderate headache, too. There is a 2 inch wide bump, it's not red, just painful, and the pain radiates from the muscles at the ankle all the way up to the knee when I flex or extend.

It's not an injection spot so what the hell could be wrong? Someone said it could be a reaction to a bug bite but it would be ironic that it's on that little bump that I never had to worry about,,, until now.

can yo upost a pic. an abscess does not always form right at the injection site. you can still have an infection that may not have even been from the injecdtion itself. i am sure you used a new needle and rubbed the site with ETOH. Do you shave or trim your leg hair?

Sometimes a random abscess can form from an infected follicle. it is hard to diagnose it as a bug/spider bite unless you see it bite you. just monitor it and see if it passes. put warm compresses and take some motrin. if it si not better in the next day or two go and see a MD.

Can't post pic. i just took some keflex, amoxicillin, and motrin. gonna take a hot bath now and see if i feel better. Before, I stuck a syringe in it and pulled to see if anything comes out,,, nothing at all. BTW I always wash my hands and use 70% Iso Alcohol on the inj spot.

how many days of the antibiotics do you have. you need at least 7-10 days of each. keflex is 4 times a day usually. amoxil is good for skin infections as well as other things. you should be golden if you have enough to last you.

Shouldn't have said Keflex. It's generic Cephalexin. I got 80 x 500mg caps of those,,, and only like 10 x 750mg tabs of amox. I think I'll take 1/2 tab of amox twice a day and go 4 times a day with the Cephalexin. Thanks for the info.

I'll see how it goes.

My leg feels much better after 15 minutes of icing it.

i don't know. . .when i hit a nerve in my quad, it hurt like a bad bee sting and my leg jumped all over the place (involuntary muscle contraction) and it hurt pretty good/bad for a few days after but it was definitely only at the site of the inject. . .this sounds a little more serious. . .i know it's too late now but personally, i stay the hell away from everything but delts, quads and glutes. . .

I'm having doubts on it being an infection. I'm very careful when injecting. Maybe it's a sterile abscess?

blindly taking antibiotics creates superbugs and causes resistant strains of organisms. I would highly advise against this. If it continues to swell, I would have it checked out. Wouldnt want compartment syndrome....could lose your leg
