I'm a little confused now.
Omega, you told me to do my regular deads as he does in that video i.e. I never set down the barbell between reps, I only go about halfway down, bending my knees a little -- essentially rackpulls without using a rack.
I do my SLDL's with totally stiff legs (or let them slightly bend), do only the top 1/3 or 1/4 of the motion using just my lower back to lift, flexing my lower back and glutes at the top of the movement for a second or 2.
Am I missunderstanding how you wanted me to do these movements or am I correct?
