Anyone know of any good olympic lifting training videos?I was thinking about buying the one that ironmind sells.I really had no clue how a good clean, jerk ,or snatch looked until watching some of the show on Discovery yesterday.

bulgarian trainning hall tape (1998 Unbelievable Bulgarians)

also any comp tape

at iron mind (would NOT recommend the jim schmitz video or book)

apparently the earlier ones are the best.

I hear from CT that the Double one with Botev and Dimas is a good one

Me personally I like the Polish training Champions one, not often you see these guys do mid thigh hang power snatches, ie not the full lifts and Kolecki was using 110kg (242lbs) for his top set of 3 reps (plus one power snatch). Very fast!

This vid is more like a normal training sessions, you get lots of info from it, just by seeing all the Assistant different lifts they do.
The other vids are more peaking ones before meets, with big lifts so guess more exciting

yeah that polish one is mad. Bench pressing, hyper extensions, shrug pulls from benchs, snatch balances etc etc

i love the bit at the end when they guy with the beard is doing jumps. and then everyone starts looking to see the "good looking lady" in the hall next door...breaking their necks to see it ha.

Coolcol i have a comp tape a few months before (the bulgarian traning hall), one of the guys dislocates his elbow breaking a PR.
In the training video he is back at it.
Watch the video...its kinda hard to hear it, but Randall mumbles something about it.
I hate watching that comp tape. a couple nasty happenings.....the elbow dislocation makes me cringe

WOW!! Just watched the Dimas video(about 12 times lol) that Cool Col J posted...thats freakin amazing!I cant even imagine supporting that

Perfect timing for this thread! I'm getting ready to order myself some vids (got my Ironmind catalog right here). Looks like I'm going with the two tape set of the training hall that CCJ recommended.

What about that 2001 Creating Champions Training Hall tape?

yeah that's over 440lbs....:alien:
even more amazing he blasted it up there with just leg drive mostly!

SLinky - The 2001 Training champions Polish one is one of my favs, It's the only where the action is more or less a regular training week full of assistant lifts. I described it above.
You get to see them bench press, one of them jump on/off a 42 inch table, doing behind the neck squat into snatch push press, shrug pulls from a bench, hang power snatches, big squats, pulls, plus the full lifts themselves and so on. It's full of info in a subtle way. Actually most of all the other vids apart from the 2001 one Training Champions are all session just ebfore big meets so you don't get to see them do their assistant lifts much, just the full lifts and squats

Every time I watch that I'm ready to rush to the gym afterwards! :)

The very first one is supposed to be good too - I've seen the Later Bulgarian one, big lifts, etc, but didn't tickle me the same way. I liked the very short bits when you seen em do very easy and smooth power cleans and power snatches though :D
But if you want big max attempts in the lifts and squats, this video certianly has em.

those are some sweet vids.

interestign how there are two methods in the jerk--the one-foot back one and the just squat down one

Thanks for posting that link CCJ. Great resource!

I convinced Ko last night that we needed to begin a vid library of these training vids. Not that it was hard to convince, but we begin NOW!

Recieved my video today!!I think I got the Polish one that CoolColJ was talking about.I love it...still watching it..They make everything look so easy!!!
