I have 3 splits.
day 1: pushing exercises
day 2 : pulling exercises
day 3 : legs.
I mix in cardio AFTER my workouts, usually i rest for a bit and find a hottie to run next to on the treadmill
so I am working the same muscle groups every 4 days if I go ED.
the key is I always start with large exercises first and go heavy. then as my workout progresses I go less weight and more reps as I isolate. my routines and the exercises I do change, I try to use different machines etc.
I posted an example of my pushing split earlier in the log.
here is my leg split from yesterday..
clean and jerks, 3 sets X 6 reps. 135 pounds, 155 pounds and then 175 pounds. unfortunately i have to use yoga pads cause my gym doesn't have mats so i really cannot go heavy and risk failing on these reps. I used to workout at Worlds Gym back in the day and they had a clean and jerk section you could go heavy and not worry cause there was plenty of padding you could drop the bar.
squats. 3 sets. X 6 reps.. 135, 225, 315
leg machine 3 sets
calves 6 sets total.
5 minute rest
"around the world" holding a 45 pound weight in each hand and walking around the gym.. half of the walk on my tippie toes.
another walk but this time a 45 pound weight on my back.. i feel these walks are a great way to strengthen the leg core, kinda like a mule having to carry things on their back and building strength
5 minute rest
half mile on treadmill jog.. 9 minute pace
