Okay, alright, if you think you're a nerd beat this shit

The last few books I've read have all been biorgaphies or auto-biographies:

Norman Schwarzkopf -- It Doesn't Take A Hero (not bad, the Desert Storm stuff is really cool)

John Glenn -- A Memoir (good read, quite funny at times)

Sanyika Shakur a.k.a. Kody Scott -- Monster: The Life of an L.A. Gang Member (amazing book, it's required reading at a lot of universities these days)

Michael Crichton -- Travels (probably Crichtons best work, imo).

And then there's just the usual smut books.

I'd much rather read a good fiction book than a biographical book. It's nice (if you can) to settle down and read a good book right before bedtime. ;)

Yeah, like I said...smut books. They rule.

I read Stephen King and Anne Rice when it comes to fiction..

but mainly I like non-fiction stuff... Fast Food Nation is a great book.. the modern day "jungle"

Stephen King rocks, I've read 30 something of his books, which is about 4 feet worth (counting a series as one book).

The Dark Tower series (Gunslinger) and the Talisman are probably my two favorites.

Just some.

I'v read a lot of books regarding the Stalin Era.
That was my main area of interest.
Most of the good russian authours are ex-patriates
that had to flee russia because of political reasons.
I did read Crime and Punishment, but I didn't really
like it very much. It just drags on and on and on..... :)

Fonz

you sound very much like me. I have a BA in Poli. Sci. and read over 50 books in University on such topics as Eastern European, Russian, Japanese, Chinese Politics and International and Foreign affairs. I actually found it very interesting and more enjoyable than the "fantasy" or "fiction" novels. Anything that is built on the truth I find interesting to read about.

Best authors in my opinion

- Maxim Gorky
- Leo Tolstoy
- Dostoevsky
- Vaclav Havel
- Friedrich Engels
- F. Nietzsche

So many more i can name. IMO these are some of the greatest authors.

The Wheel of Time

Rand Al'Thor - The Dragon Reborn
Perrin Albaya - One of the 3 ta'veren
Lanfear - Forsaken - " Daughter of the Night "
Al'Lan Mandragon - Moiraine's Warder
