Okay, thus far Fonz is the Head Nerd but I'll be right behind him if i keep using words like 'thus'. Everyone report to him from now on on all things dorky.

Just curious Nate, but why do you associate the word "Nerdy"
to something as commonplace as reading?

The world would be a far better place if people just read a little bit
more instead of watching TV 5-7 hours/day.

Yes. Excellent book.

Written by Alexander Solshenitshzyn(sp).

Politically driven author. Also wrote some works on the russian Gulags.

I wrote a dissertation on him.

are you into Russian literature ? have your read

"Crime and Punishment" or "The Idiot " by Fyodor Dostoyevsky ?

Just some.

I'v read a lot of books regarding the Stalin Era.
That was my main area of interest.
Most of the good russian authours are ex-patriates
that had to flee russia because of political reasons.
I did read Crime and Punishment, but I didn't really
like it very much. It just drags on and on and on..... :)

there's a member here who goes by "Drizzt"

How about these characters:

Cpt. Robert Walton

Margaret Seville

Beaufort

M. Krempe

Felix

De Lacey

I still don't know any of them. Give me a hint? If it's sci-fi I only really read Phillip K. Dick stuff but I read a fair bit of it. He was a great author.
