I know you are not supposed to mix fats and carbs with protein, but does the brocolli count as carbs? So I am asking would it be ok to have brocolli, flax oil, and a protein at same meal?
John Berardi was a big advocate of the fats vs CHO concept. Though I find some truth in mixing unhealthy fats and high GI carbs as a waste, and fat gain, eating healthy fats, with veggies and a low GI carb and protein is fine. Just don't stick to fats, pre and post-workout
Actually I disagree with the above. Some complex carb+low amount fish/flax oil+pro will create positive anabolic environment pre-workout. PW - stay away!
Also I'd sub in spinach instead of broc any day, but....
