My weight has been staying the same each and every morning 106.5. But saturday I went to our fave mex restaurant and ate the chips and salsa and chips and cheese dip, along with my meal. Then preceded to come home and eat quite a few girl scout lemon coolers cookies(don't buy them, they're the devil  ) Also had kettle corn popcorn that night. I was a bad, bad girl (it was my cheat day but i went overboard)
Anyway I get on the scales sunday morning and hmmm weight 105.
This is the kind of crap that makes unsure of everything I do.
What gives???

again - unless you have a bf pinch test - you DONT know what the scale is telling you.

You cant expect to see a reliable difference in sacle weight on a daily basis...My weight fluctuates 6 pounds during the day.

Might also just ask -- how are your clothes fitting? Are you noticing a difference there? As I said -- my weight has fluctuated about 3 lbs over the last 2 1/2 months but I've dropped 5% bf & all my pants now hang on me.

My weigh does the same.. if u drink alot of water u can go up and down all day long..

I know it can fluctuate, so I weight myself first thing when i get up each a.m.
I just don't understand why it went down after a bad eating spree.
Yes, my pants are somewhat looser (hooray)!!

Could be you caught your weight after expelling some water weight. You don't immediately "get fat" after eating. There's also a hang time with carbs before they are absorbed. Carbs require water to be "held" so perhaps that hasn't occurred yet.

Things happen. Maybe your metabolism needed a boost after dieting for awhile. The extra calories and so-called "bad food" did just that.

This is EXACTLY why I do not think ANY food is "bad". It is all about moderation. Thinking certain foods are "bad" only leads to YOU feeling bad about yourself. ANd why do that?

DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF EVERYDAY. This is totally counterproductive. If you know weight can fluctuate, why do that everyday? It is pointless. Do it 1x a week, same day, same time.

hmmm also it's 1 day of eating badly...1 day is not going to have much affect on your body, unless you're having 1 of these days everyday.

Give yourself a day every week to eat what you want, like a reward for eating clean for the other 6 days.

Same here there at least a 4-8 lb difference just on water alone and I mean intake.

Think about how much a gallon of water weighs.

^^^ ditto

When are you getting your Body Fat done (calipers)??

Ok, last night before I went to bed I weighed myself (with clothes) I was at 171 and FULL of water, I drank about 2 gallons yesterday

This morning I was 161.8 lbs

So DO.... NOT...... rely.... on.... the.....scale

:D

Okay! And I will look into getting my own calipers. ;) Which calipers are the best ones though. The digital for 41 bucks or the other cheaper ones????

LOL

I'm the same way.

THe biggest challenge w/ a self-pinch & the calipers is trying to do the back of your tricep. For that reason alone I have "trained" one of the trainers at my gym to help me get the 7 pinch sites. The digital would probably be easier fromthe standpoitn that you don't have to try to reach around and read what the "analog" caliper says.

If I can't reach my tricep, do you have any other recommended sites for doing the test?

The 3 point & 7 point pinch calculations I've seen all rely on the tricep measurement. That's where I'm suggesting (and Shadow may be able to attest to this that it can be done) that the digital caliper may be easier IF you are able to get the caliper around a skin pinch without actually using the other hand to "pre-pinch". Then the reading should display long enough that you can bring the caliper over in front of your face & read it. You can't really do that w/the "analog" caliper.
