honestly?? people are still driving 90 miles an hour on the highway. . .burning up gas like it's water. . .while marines are bleeding on the sand in the middle east to keep the gas pumps turned on. . .that shit pisses me off. . .

The obesity epidemic in America is a sad situation.. I see childeren that are 12 and 13 that weigh 200 lbs and parents have no time but to run them by McDonalds.. sad..

The most disgusting thing I see Americans do is be so "quick" to pass judgment on peoples unlike themselves.................

Not saying other Cultures are perfect,.........(and I believe we do out best) - but sometimes we all need to look around and realize that no one is perfect...........

At church two weeks ago (I try to take my mother every Sunday) they had their "fourth Sunday" which is an after-church luncheon. Everyone brings a dish each etc. etc.

I sat across from a 300+ lb woman in a wheelchair. She had gauze over her eye from where she'd lost it. She was on an oxygen service. She couldn't even move her wheelchair itself. She's sitting across from me at lunch, and I'm thinking: "How is she going to do this?" She draws a needle full of insulin, shoots up, then asks my mother to go through the line for her to get food. Mom gets her a good bit of food (She figured she'd be a big eater). Then, once she's wiped that out, she asks me to go through the line for her one more time and wants nothing but sugary stuff. She points to one sugary thing after another and I'm thinking this woman is intentionally eating herself to death.

That is really disturbing.

we took the kids to disney back in july. . .the damn place was full of "scooter people" and, with one or two exceptions, the only obvious "handicap" i could see was fat. . .

Are the 'scooter people' an American phenom? I've never seen them anywhere else but in the US.

Seeing americans help other cultures, they all suck... what a waste of time.

Sucking down greasy junk food is pretty disgusting, but Australians do that just as much, if not more.

Other than the current government I don't really have anything against America as a country.

I wouldn't be comfortable in a gun culture society though, if you feel safer carrying a gun I wouldn't feel safe.

On a brighter note America has given this planet some of the best damn comedy ever - even Dubya qualifies for this. And all the cool, nifty inventions that we use everyday.

b0und (I love America, like a the nutty, funny family down the street)

sounds like any good old addiction to me

I have a good one. How long the American presidential goes on. It starts two yrs before the actual election.

In other countries, it's about 6-8 weeks of campaigning and press. Americans are loud and need to do everything big and annoying.
Shut up already and elect a friggin prez so we can stop hearing about it.

I have several things that make me ill.

1) Lack of eprsonal responsibility. People do stupid shit, and then blame/sue someone else for it, or expect someone else to fix it, or look for the quickest fix available. Life involves consequences for our mistakes and americans in general seem to want to avoid that as much as possible.

2) The pussification of childhood. The padded playgrounds, the teachers that aren't allowed to hug a child who's crying without facing sexual battery charges, the little boy who can't kiss a girl on the cheek without getting kicked out of school - hell, I'm shocked parents haven't sued the pavement companies when their kid gets a skinned knee. I spent half my childhood with a dirty face, skinned knees, and halfway up a tree. Now that same tree got cut down because it was deemed "unsafe." Jesus tittyfucking christ, people.

Totally agreed. Unfortunately.

#1 agreeed
#2 that is like that all over North America.....coddle the kids and they turn out like basket cases

1. Obesity.

2. The idolization of pop culture.

3. "Reality" tv.

4. Nobody can do anything for themselves and it's never anyone's fault if they fail. Our housing market is a prime example of this.

The most disgusting thing I have ever seen an american do is:

I saw an obese lady eat 3 big macs, 2 extra large fries and drink 2 extra large cups of coke while at McDonalds. It was horrible to see that.

Ok, The America's...... which one are we talking about... North or south.......... then which country in that American continent? Be more specific, smart ass.

Perfect hangover meal.

I've never lived or visited another country, not even Canada or Mexico, so I can't comment on whether these things happen there, but the things I see that actually make me upset or disturbed:
1. Litter. Seriously. Ever drive down the road behind someone and they throw garbage out of their car window? My front lawn is constantly collecting bottles, cans, all sorts of shit. What the fuck is wrong with people?!

2. People who are flat out mean to their children in public. If they treat them like that in public what the hell do they treat them like in private? At the opposite end of the spectrum but equally disgusting are the dumb fucks whose children are clearly spoiled beyond any sense of reason.

3. The increase of rudeness. What ever happened to a simple Please, Thank You, Excuse Me or After You? (actually this probably links to #2) The whole pervasive attitude of "FUCK YOU!!! It's what makes ME happy and if it's bothering you, eat shit and keep your opinion to yourself." This includes, but is not limited to, cars and motorcycles that have extremely loud exhaust systems, vehicles whose music can be heard from more than 50 feet away, cigar/cigarette smoke, overpowering perfume/cologne and drive by shootings. If someone is fat, that's not invading my space, I don't have to look at fat or ugly.

I'm not sure if this fits but the advent of 24 hour news cable stations are pretty horrible. Essentially there was CNN. Then MSNBC and FOX. Once you have competition then you have to make things entertaining.

So what you end up with are people watching these stations now (instead of 6PM news) and everything that is delivered is done so in an URGENT BREAKING NEWS fashion. It creates this constant sense of urgency that simply doesn't exist.

AMERICA!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! Britney Spears just flashed her vajaja again!

The lazy welfare recipients that are able bodied are breeding like cockroaches and the middle-class is having to pay for them to do it. Each generation of these shitbags teaches the next to follow suit. This is one of my biggest pet peaves in this country.

That happens ALL THE TIME up in Canada

Thinking that the world revolves around America

Thinking that they have holy rights to the Oils of the world

Thinking that it is inheritly their right and privilige to save every third world country from itself

Having the mentality: "God bless America, and no place else."

Thinking they are better than everyone else, and trying to make every important man in the history of the world American (Einstein, Arnold, Hassan Kamel El Sabbah, etc...)

Don't get me started on this one. That and the open door immigration policy that lets criminals waltz into our country and set up shop or families to come in with 15 kids and jump straight on welfare and get a free place to live.

In the US they have to sneak in, here in Canada we welcome them with open arms. It makes me sick.

A LOT of other countries have remarkably stringent standards for allowing you to even come under consideration to "move in," shit, you can be virtually a millionaire and they still don't want your ass taking up space and consuming a born citizen's resources. Want to spend an eye opening afternoon, Google "How to immigrate to _________" (insert country name of choice).

She's soooo right about this. It's pretty difficult even for highly successful professionals.

Doods and doodettes I was thinking more along the lines of things like snot eating, poop eating, disgusting stuff....
I think?
