I love biking but I never get to do it. It wasn't so bad with my first child because he loved to ride on his baby seat but the 2nd one.... oh she just hates it so I've only been on my bike once this year. I am on vacation this week but chose to send the kids to daycare to get some "me" time. Today I rode 17 miles in the country side (hills). It took me 1 1/2 hours but it felt SO good. Now my legs hurt and I Just want to lay on the couch and read. :) If it's nice out I plan on going out again, just maybe not to so far. I like a good 12 mile bike ride.

Oooh, it hurts so good!!

When I was 20 I vowed to bike 1,000 miles in one summer. I would get home from work and get on my bike and go 12-15 miles a day. It was a bit more rugged country side (BIG hills, LOL) and I did pretty good. I went for about a month and then we had about 2 weeks of straight rain and I kind of lost interest. So I got back into the gym instead to meet work out (and scope out the boys).

hey mel,

i just thought i would pop on here and tell you i got my potassium and benadryl!! thanx for word.. get some on the bicylce girl!! i cant ride that long, run yes, but riding is hard.. good for you!

My husband won't *let me* get a bike. LOL He says it isn't safe for EVERYONE ELSE on the road.

******HUGS*******

I am glad you posted!! :D

I have a bicycle, not a motorcycle. I've been on a motorcycle once. This guy took me out for a ride but no one taught me what I had to do so when he leaned into curves I leaned the other way because it felt unnatural to lean with him. I know that was quite wrong and it was too much (skin) exposure between me and the highway... not good for my comfort level.

When I was riding some 16 year old (or so) girl wasn't paying attention and swurved off the road at me, kind of freaked me out and then gave ME the glare like "why are you riding on my road". And then my ipod died about 11 miles in.... which made for a LONG ride home :D I feel good today. Actually my hand hurts more then anything else. I was holding a water bottle with it. Legs feel good.

Lol..that would be me driving. I won't drive because it's hazardous to others. I need a driver! lol..

I'll answer for ya.lol

Yes, 3 cups of green tea is great, however I'll encourage you to stop the java. Although coffee has some benefits as in natural diuretic, energy booster (fake energy) helps shed weight (water), and many more, it also tastes good; it depletes you of your nutrients and vitamins. In addition, you'll find that when you stop drinking coffee you will feel as if a cloud has lifted off from you. With green tea, you will also have constant energy, is an anti-oxidant, great for your skin and many other benefits I can go on with.

ok... thanx thandie.... omg..getting ride of the "java" is going to wreck havoc on my "braincell"... so i will do:

8am - 1 cup green tea

11am - 1 cup green tea

2pm - 1 cup green tea

fantastic!!

Oh, it will be tough, but you'll feel so much better.
However, you can treat yourself once in a while for a cup of coffee. I do, I have cappuccino once in a while.

I have not entirely kicked the habit and I hate hot tea so I drink iced green tea (not the bottled kind, the actual brewed kind). I still drink 1/2c coffee in the a.m. and really as long as I can get 2-3 sips in I am pretty much set to go.

I was talking about a bicycle too, LOL. The closest I get to a motorcycle is "beautify-ing" the back of my husband's Harley which is perfectly OK with me!

I've been bugging him to get a bicycle foreverago but he is afraid that I'll end up getting myself keelt.

Thandie, thanks for the advice about the green tea. I know you've posted it a thousand times before but I never really gave it much consideration. I liked my coffee, but since I started drinking it black (BLECH) I've lost the desire to drink it. I generally wake up refreshed (I have to take sleep aid that works well) and ready to go so I truly don't NEED the energy spike. I've been eating better and rarely drink alcohol (also helps me sleep better. I noticed that even if I have 2/3 drinks I will get to sleep but awake around 3AM and can't get back to sleep for love or money). And *surprise* *surprise* I've started to finally drop that pesky bit of backfat.

You ladies are tremendous. Thank you all for posting up. :)

Yay! no drinking for BM. I'm so happy for you.
Give green tea a try. You'll notice many positive effects in a month of drinking it.
You look great, btw!

i'm doing legs this evening. kinda excited to incorporate some of the tips given in that squat thread! and abs, i've been neglecting them. i hope the menfolk don't hog the squat racks. :destroy:
