I'm like that the week before too.
GOD, it sucks ass.

Last month mine was running late (almost a week) which sucked because a friend was coming to visit for the weekend and we were gonna play. It came just in the nick of time so the weekend was fine. Then this month I was away visiting my mother and it came early so I was unprepared. Normally I'm very regular, predictable pms symptoms, 27 day cycle but this month I had no pms except for some water retention. I have no idea what's going on.

I feel you girl...it seem's like the older I get the longer I have PMS symptoms!!Sucks ASS!! :worried:

Yep got it almost 5 days late...I know mine has something to do with "age". I have always been really regualr until this last yr or so....nope, no baby for me..hubby was fixed after our third daughter! I find that low carb tends to mess with mine for some odd reason

^^^for shame, don't you want more babies? how are 3 even enough, it's just a taster surely? ;)

are your girls old enough to menstruate? otherwise you can align your cycle days to match....so cool!

Nope they are still really little....2, 4 and 6. I can't have any more. They said that my uterus would rupture if I got pregnant again.....

2, 4 & 6!!

Girl you have your hands full. :verygood:

I am literally a bitch LOL I menstruate so infrequently. I have no idea about PMS, never did. When I do get it, it is so light that I hardly notice and as I get older the periods will be scantier and more infrequent. Shit, mental-pause scares the shit out of me and I KNOW it is around the bend!!

My oldest daughter is 12 and her period can't be too far off - the rest are right behind her. I figure that by the time they are all menstruating I will be pretty much done. :(

As for being unprepared... how embarrassing do you think it is for a 37 y/o woman to ALWAYS be unprepared. Last month my little one was in the bathroom with me and I didn't even freaking notice until she said, "Mommy, what is that blood on your panties?" Then I had to ask my 60 - someodd y/o bf if he had any "womankindathings" in the house! LOL So i sent him to the store for tampons!!!! Hhehehehehehhhe

Oh my god I am the world's most bloated person today. I feel like one of the chicks in the "before" picture of one of those Xpel or other anti-bloating pill ads. (does that stuff actually work?) And I swear all the water I've been drinking is just making it worse. Good thing I don't have plans (other than being lazy) for tonight, or the rest of the weekend for that matter.

I used to get cramps so bad back when I was in high school (at least once I started getting my period...which wasn't until I was almost 16 because of all the training for skating). I'd have to miss at least one day of school every month and just stay home curled up in a ball crying because it was far too painful and NOTHING helped. And if the cramps hit during the school day, having the school nurse call home to my dad (whose office was in our house) and explain to him that I needed to go home due to "women's troubles" was always so fun. Couldn't she have just told him I was sick!?

Other than when I've been on the pill, my cycle is not on any sort of schedule. It isn't good at being consistent. It much prefers to either surprise me with an early visit or scare the hell out of me by being weeks late.

There are a few days a month where I feel like the marshmallow man. I feel so puffy. I also have a hell of a time staying out of sugar at that time. But worst of all is that I cry...and cry...and cry. I'll sit there thinking about how upset I'd be if my fiance died in an accident or something silly and I'll bawl forever. And then he gets home and wonders what the hell is wrong with me.

Oh the fun of estrogen!

And Werd-- speaking of kids in the bathroom, a friend of our family brought her 4 year old in the ladies room with her while shopping. It was a full mall bathroom. And the little one loudly asked "Mommy, why do you have so much hair down there". Everyone just giggled. ;)

I have found mine to be alot heavier then they used to be....

Brunette....You didn't say anything wrong if you ment that post for me!!

cool, thanks gymgurl :)

btw girlies, zinc levels should be above average for happy-period-days! please consider supplementing your levels for lighter periods, ok?

Funny you should mention the "hair down there" thing. LOL I keep my front lawn very well manicured and walk around the house in my birthday suit and even bathe with my kids. My two older daughters started growing pubic hair and aren't pleased about it. I don't remember feeling the same when I started to grow hair. Do you guys think this is because I normally shave/wax mine bald? or only keep a very little hair at most?

It's a different era. Remember, when we grew up there weren't bikini hair ads all over the place and playboy models didn't shave.

My daughter's 12 and shaves her pubic hair. She doesn't want any to show in a bathingsuit and thinks it's quite gross when friends of hers don't shave. The first time she shaved it she didn't ask me questions first and wound up with a rash so I had to explain a few things to her.

School starts tomorrow, 7th grade, and for the first time she'll have to be changing for gym, so today we went out and bought her new bras and panties. She usually wears bikini style but I got some at Target that are boycut for myself and she likes them. Today they had the same ones in her size and while I'm reading this thread she's trying them on and showing them to me. She looks so cute! Little tiny but. LOL Then she mentions she likes this style just in case she forgets to shave. LOL

She hasn't started her period yet but it'll start soon. She's got all the signs and keeps a pad in her purse at all times, just in case.

Now they sell these little kits with a pad and a pair of disposable underware for young girls. This way if they're out and it starts, they can just toss the soiled undies and continue about their day. My how times have changed! I remember my cousin wearing pads that had to be worn with a belt before the sticky stuff was added on em!

Wow - thanks Ms Puddles... My daughter started shaving her pubic hair as well and it nearly gave me a fucking heart attack!!! I talked her out of it but now that it has grown in I can see that it is fairly substantial. It doesn't peek out of the sides of a bathing suit, but there is quite a bit up front. I told her not to shave her underarms but told her that I would take her to get it waxed if she wanted. I prefer she not shave her legs as I dont see the need. The hair is very light and summer is almost over so I am hoping to get one more year out of her not having to do that. Yea, yea - I know I am freaking about the fact that she and I are practically in the same clothing size. It is all just coming so soon... so unexpected. I was thinking 16/17, for goodness sake maybe like 14.... BUT BARELY TWELVE?!?!?!! YIKES

I mean, I am all into getting her "diva" panties (as I like to call them to separate them from the little mermaid and finding nemo panties her younger sisters have. The magic number 10 is the "diva panties" birthday in my house LOL) and bralettes (I think they are far more comfortable than the training bras and my daughter agrees). She hasn't gotten her period yet either, but it will be soon. I'll look for that "starter" pack w/disposable panties you spoke of.

Her younger sister is 10 but she is getting a little pubic hair and the glands are also swelling underneath her nipples. She is a very "ungirly" girl LOL. So unless she asks me to get her bralettes I won't push the issue.

The last thing I want is for my kids to picked on because they are "geeky". I mean, I am not into keeping up with the Joneses at all, but I know how mean and shitty females can be. Gosh, I had to BEG my mother to buy me bras in the 7th grade (when we started changing for gym class) just so I wouldn't be the only girl in dorky undershirts. Now I HATE wearing bras, but wear tanktops! <------ "dorky undershirts" ;)

Yea, I remember the big thick pads! (not the belted ones though). They were like wearing fucking phone books!

Omg....you guys are freaking me out....My girls are 3,5 &7 and I know I will be at this point before I know it...at least i will have some good info from you guys on what to do.....

My step-daughter is 17 and I've been with her dad since she was about 12......I don't even know when she started her period. She was late, but has always refused to discuss it with her mother or myself. I don't know if she shaves "down there" or not even.......

I remember when I started my period (6th grade) -- those pads were like phone books!! My Goodness!! My mom also refused to let me shave my armpits. The hair I had under my arms was soooo thick & long I looked like a monkey. I had to wear T-shirts to the public pool cuz I was sooo embarrased. The boy next door saw it once & walked me home from the pool & sat my mom down & explained how disgusting it was & told her to let me shave. I think I was 12. Same with my legs, wasn't allowed to shave. I looked like Sasquatch. Ugh! Wasn't allowed to use tampons either -- a friends mother showed me how to use them, so I just started using them myself without her knowing....when she found out she was PO'd BIG TIME. Oh well....

Was due for my period today & yep, I'm crampy! Right on schedule!!

My hubby is fixed also & I love it!! No babies for me.....

I let my daughter start shaving her legs when she was 11, just from the knee down. She's got dark brown hair so any body hair is dark and I'd hate for her to feel uncomfortable in shorts (which we wear all year here in Florida). Nicole came down here last month with her daughter who's almost the same age as mine and she wanted to shave her legs starting this summer. Nicole sent her daughter into the bathroom with my daughter so she could learn how to shave. LOL It was so cute! The two girls were smiling and you could see they liked being treated like big girls.

The starter bras they have now are excellent. Soft fabrics and comfortable. My daughter usually prefers a sports bra but she's got some other nice ones. This summer her boobs just exploded and she completely fills a 34A. Boobies look so funny when they start developing, kind of pointy, but now hers are rounding out. I hope she doesn't take after me though, I'd like to see her with smaller boobs. LOL

LOL

I never told my mother when I began my period either. True story:

My mom, her gf and I were sitting at the kitchen table on morning and my mom and her gf began one of those haughty female "I know something you don't know" talks. I still remember how fucking smug (I HATE THAT SHIT) my mom's gf was saying, "You'll see. When you begin your period you will have to think twice about what you wear." (Implying not wearing white, etc.) I said, "Really?! I've been menstruating for SEVERAL months now and never had a warddrobe dilema."

My mother almost passed out.

She was like, "Why didn't you tell me?"

My answer? "What was there to tell you about? It isn't like I have a brain tumor. It's a natural part of a woman's life. If there is anything I need you to tell me, I will let you know."

I had a job since 14 so I just bought my own pads, tampons, etc.

Then when my younger sister started her period she would be like at death's door. My mother would say, "Leave her alone. She has her period and needs to lay down."

I would roll my eyes and say, "IT IS HER PERIOD - NOT A BRAIN TUMOR."

My 12 year old doesn't have thick dark hair on her legs. If she did, then I wouldn't object if she wanted to shave. As for the hair under her arms I offered to begin taking her for waxing when I go. She has declined so I guess it can't be that bad. LOL

I am very cool and open w/my kids about their bodies. We are nude or in some stage of undress at home especially in the heat (no men in our apartment - blinds drawn, of course) and comfortable with ourselves... If they have questions I answer - I hide nothing from my children and hope that they will ALWAYS feel comfortable coming to me with any concerns.

Mrs Puddles - I have to say that though this stage in my kids' lives freaked me out a little initially but now I am truly enjoying it. I feel so close and connected to my kids. We are having a good time (in spite of all the bullshit) growing up together!!! ;)

Werd -- that's great how open you are with your kids.....my mom was MUCH older than me (40 years) so she was very old fashioned....Now that I look back, it was kind of annoying....

Oh, and when I first started my period, she called everyone on the phone & told them!! I was mortified!! LOL

My mother had a HYUGE mouth too. Maybe deepdown I was afraid she would do this to me as well. LOL

OMG you all are so funny! I have two boys, so no worries here. Raina, I am so feeling you. My cycle does the same thing to me. sometimes it's here, no problems, other months...I could have a damn heart attack it takes so long to get here. It's like mother natures SICK joke! It is so sparatic that I keep a pregnancy test under my bathroom sink at ALL times! Talk about paranoia and stress, and I have been on BC for 9 years since my youngest was born. I am so over the BC and looking into get my tubes tied. Has anyone considered or had this done? Do women tend to put on weight after they have this done? I am looking at all options but since I have been on BC for so long I figured that getting my tubes tied was the next step. What do you think ladies?

Thanks, Natalie

Why not have your hubby have a vasectomy? Insurance covers it. It takes about 20 minutes in the office with local anaesthetic. He will sit on a bag of frozen peas for like a day (think about what YOU were sitting on and for how long after giving birth) and you all will be fucking like rabbits - no worries - before you know it!

My hubby had that done 2 years ago......he watched the clock while having the surgery done -- took 12 minutes......the PAPERWORK took longer....Insurance covered all but $35

He kept ice there all weekend, and he's had no problems....

glad you hubby was ok though jencats :)

Well you should have seen him......he sat in a lawn chair all weekend with ice on his crotch.....It was pretty darn funny!! He got waited on too....

hubby was milking it eh?

men

poor thing though, must have really invalidated his manliness for a while lol

Yeah, I'm not so sure my husband would even let me get the whole question out before he starts to say ... have you taken your medication today babe? That would be great though. Sitting on a bag of ice for even a second wouldn't even be part of any situation, at any time! However, if he did say yes (in a unique moment of weakness) I would cater to his EVERY need! Are you reading this honey???

Thanks ladies.. I appreciate the feed back!

Nat

Actually, no he wasn't. He was told not to walk around a lot, so I made him sit......and he volunteered for the operation.....said it was just easier.....

See .. that would be beautiful! Maybe I should seriously talk to him about it.. His response may surprise me. I think that is so great that your husband volunteered Jenscats5. To me , that is truly a selfless act...

Hello! Does it not TAKE TWO to make a baby? Why on earth should a woman go through a comparatively serious medical procedure where she has to undergo general anaesthetic (there is always a risk here) when a man can be shaven and snipped in like 15 minutes?... with far less risk, cost and discomfort?!

Self-less act?... you mean like changing A diaper?

LOL

Not trying to give you shit Ms wife, just pointing something out. :)
