**Official Pot Foggers Tax Return Thread** (aka mrplunkey tribute)

mrplunkey, have you ever smoked marijuana?

Yes. A fair amount in high school (but was never a stoner) and very rarely my last two years of undergraduate in college (guessing four times in over two years).

did you find it made you completely useless?

I never smoked in high school, I thought it was a drug that made you a loser.

I tried in college but it made me paranoid.

Re-found it on a snowboarding trip in Whistler and I realized there were different types, different effects, etc. That trip I was able to do some tricks I had never had the balls to try before because I was too nervous/anxious about them. With this herb I was able to overcome that fear, keep a cool and level head, and actually try something new.

The primary effect of pot was fine. It sedates me, which makes it a decent drug for knocking myself out of gear. What I didn't like was the lingering aftereffect. The following day I'd be fine for routine mental tasks and any physical task, but I can't do more complex mental work. That really wrecks me professionally so it's just not a practical drug for me.

I've tried a number of drugs for sleep including a lunesta, Ambien CR and a high-power prescription antihistamine. The only thing that doesn't have a lingering aftereffect for me is lunesta, but I still don't like the idea of being dependent on it.

I popped a lunesta last night, I don't use it often, but yesterday I woke up at 4:30am for a fishing trip, ended up sleeping for 2 hours from 5pm-7pm, then needed to get to sleep so I could be up for work this morning so I popped one around 10:30pm.

No negative sides for me except this terrible bitter metallic taste that lasts until the next morning.

Xanax also helps me sleep, but I don't want to be dependent on anything just to sleep so I don't use them regularly.

My sleep is so bad that I don't even mind the metallic taste.

But I've taken three lunesta in the last two months. That's about all I'm willing to use it.

To it's credit though, there don't appear to be any mental hangover effects (at least for me).

yeah never had any lunesta fog either. Xanax makes me feel tired the next morning but I didn't think of it as a mental hangover. Maybe I just am good at navigating in a fog.
