you switches jobs to a small sister company and promised a lot only to see the president is totally different after working with him and going back on what he said when you signed.

basically i went from a large company to a small sister company. we are very profitable and run the whole office with 5 people. him president, me vp, 2 secret, 1 service engineer.

i didn't sign any papers but the salary and bonus agreement. it was agreed that i would have 2 weeks vaction upon sign on and then go 3 weeks upon the new year. well first he dicks me over and prorates my vacation time last year. my raise was supposed to be starting july 1st and still haven't received. keeps saying he's working on it. also my secretary is working on a vaction schedule for him and told me hey i thought u had 3 weeks vacation and he has me on for 2 weeks. although this new secretary who told me this has 3 weeks vacation. she was hired in may. doesn't look like he even prorated her for this year.

advice, suggestions?

also he's been making me do more clerical work than sales and projects that i was brought on to do. also didn't give me any resources to do sales such as computer, projector and so on.

spray his office doorknob with pepper spray. He will invariably touch his face or his johnson in the restroom. I did this one once to great effect! hehehehe

You're a VP and asking this on an internet chat board, the title VP just isn't what it was anymore.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of issues here, first and foremost - how did YOU get yourself in this situation? Seems like (judging by just what you said here) that you let some guy sweet talk you into joining some operation without signing anything......not the best move. And apparently he fooled you into thinking he was this great manager?

I don't know, maybe cut your losses and bounce outta there if there are better options available. And learn many lessons from this....

i agree, but getting a VP title at 25 is impressive. i agree that i did not make him put the vacation time in my contract was not the best idea. since it was such a small operation i did not think it was a huge deal, and put trust in what the president of the office said.

i'll wait till the end of the year see if things change, get my bonus, and save cash and see what happens

It is very impressive that you have that title at the ripe young age of 25. Props to you for that. Hope everything works out. Have you spoken to the pres about all of this? Personally, I would go in and have a talk with him about it. See how he tries to back his way out of what he originally told you.

Keep us informed

oh yeah, if that don't work, then kick him in the balls

99% of the time, even salaried employees are not on employment contracts. You will figure it out in a few years.

keeps saying he's working on it for the salary part.

waiting to see what happens as far as the vacation. my secretary is going to show him the format she's using for his verification. we'll see probably today whats up.

correct neither me nor my secretary have a legit employee contract. i know for a fact she has none at all. i just have my salary and benefits (medical, dental, and such in mine)

Every state is different but most have a Wage and Hour Act which would govern the situation - it can get real hokey in some situations, especially since you do not have an employment contract in writing. if your state accepts oral contracts as being binding in the employment law area then you could have a claim for not being paid wages that you are legally entitled to.

keep being the fuckin queer u are

maybe he doesn't think you are worth it... not trying to be a dick, just saying, there's nothing worse than an employee who sucks coming to you asking for more money. Kick ass at work publicly for the next 2 wks then hit him up right there and ask for even more plus backdate the old stuff. And have him put it in writing.

sales increased 35% this year
service has increased 50% and no longer has complaints

i think that speaks for itself
