Oats and eggs

Err silly question but some people say they eat oats and eggwhites for breakfast. does this mean you mix them and if so how and what are good recipes?

thanks

Well....I suppose you could mix it all together...I'm the type of person who has to have her food seperated on her plate - WITH NO other foods touching the other. I know..I know..Strange!

I fix my oatmeal as directed then eat boiled egg whites( and a few yolks after workout) each morn.

mix together? sounds nasty as hell, i just cook up 3 eggs and a half cup of oatmeal, and put a tad of milk in the oatmeal.

I make a small bowl of oats (ramekin size) and ad a packet of splenda to it.

I cook my Eggs up and throw hot sauce on them and eat separately.

I do both in the Mic and can have them ready within 3 mins

Power Pancakes

Single serving:
Well rounded, 1/2 cup quick oats
6 egg whites
1 1/2 scoops whey protein (any flavor)
2 Tbsp. FF Vanilla Yogurt
1 packet sugar substitute ( or 2)
and some fruit like chopped up banana, strawberrys, or blueberrys.mix well and cook like you would regular pancakes. For syrup, I use Log Cabin sugar free or Atkins syrup. Da Bomb :p

Wow i tired that recipe and yes it was very very nice. I missed out on the yoghurt and fruit but used cottage cheese with splenda and cinamon as a filling.

Oh god i felt like i cheated!!! :D

Sounds like I gotta try this too. Normally I nuke my oats for one minute with cinniman, splenda and water...I don't like them well done. Eggwhites are done in a seperate pan with seasonings and a little shreaded cheese.

I mix 8 egg whites and a 1/2-1 cup of oatmeal in a bowl, put them on a skillet on thes tove and cook it into one big pancake. Eat one for breakfast every morning.

Question for Vixenbabe

Any particular reason for the egg yolks after w/o?

I usually have a protein shake w/carbs after w/o... for recuperation... Do you recuperate well with fat/protein snack after w/o? I'm looking for something different so that I won't get bloated after my post-workout snack...

Klingon, Put some natty PB (2 Tbsp.) or 1 Tbsp. flax oil in your PWO shake. Great for the heart. Tastes good to. Natty PB forever. I wish I could eat a jar a day.

It's just something I have always done.It works for me so I stick with it. If I do not eat yolks I'll grab some blanched almonds too !

2 tbsp PB in my protein shake!!!?

wow! sounds like a lot of fat! I guess I'm gonna give it a try but I won't add my usual banana to my shake then...

:p :mix:
