Oatmeal sucks! But theres a solution...

Oatmeal is nasty right?

Well, the other day I tried Quaker's Oatmeal Squares cereal. Its basically oatmeal but flavored and not nearly as nasty as gooey wet oat. Theyre crunchy ok tasting squares
 
Well unfortunately those bad boys are loaded with sugar (high fructose corn syrup!) - not really an acceptable substitute for plain old oats!!

Yup. Plus, they are hella processed. Not acceptable for a clean diet or even a healthy diet, IMO.

If you don't like Oatmeal, try Cream of Wheat. Or add raw oats to your protein shake and blend. Or mix raw oats, protein powder and egg whites and make a protein pancake.
 
I just down my oatmeal. Raw, swish with water, swallow. I'm doing it for nutritional value. If I want something to taste good, I'll go to Taco Bell and get loaded with all grade F meat and disgusting, greasy foods.
 
i was with the first athlete with the oatmeal, i ate the shit outta those Quaker squares, and i didnt see any harmful results, i would eat one every morning for breakfast.....when i started my cutting diet i killed em off and im on natural dry oatmeal now......just like tom said pop it in the mouth swish with water and be done.....lol....but i remember how good those damn squares were.....mmmmm......banana bread flavor......yummmm........
 
yeh those oatmeal squares are very good, but like they said, tons of sugar. 27g if i remember correctly
 
I mlove oatmeal and miss it dearly, I am cutting right now and just cant take any in. Id always eat mine uncooked with some cinnamon and splenda in in out of a cup and chew it up real good it tastes ausome. Four more weeks. lol
 
yeh if i made oatmeal and i needed it to taste sweet, i would put a splenda or 2 in the water and pur it on the oatmeal.
 
I mix 2/3 c. raw oats with 1/4 c. Fiber One cereal and water and microwave it, then when it's hot I put about 1/4 c. sugar free maple syrup in there for flavor. That's my breakfast every morning...I'm keeping carbs sorta low (<150 grams) and that meal accounts for about 50 g of (slow-digesting) carbs first thing in the morning (270 cals, 48 g carbs, 8 g protein). And I love oatmeal as long as there is SOME flavor...doesn't have to be much, but those plain raw oats are pretty tough to down!
 
Man, I really hope this isn't a dumb question, but here goes: What is so bad about rasins? I eat my oats every day with two of the little 14g snack boxes dumped in.

It does add a little bit of sugar, but it makes it a hell of a lot more palatable.
 
Oh I see.. hehe. Oh well, i bet its still probably the best or (least worst) breakfast cereal out there.

I dont consider myself to be as devoted to 100% strictness but I do try, thats why I only buy Raisin Bran, Frosted Mini Wheats and Quaker SQ's.
