Number of posts and EXPERIENCE...

RussianBro

New member
You know, guys and gals, I just realized something (sometimes I am slow, OK?).
In the last few months sience I got back from Russia I've met bunch of cool people here and stay in touch with them. Some of you don't post as much, but you've got quite much of damn experience!!! But some have so many damn posts and have no clue what the hell is going on on this board...
Interesting... Any thoughts on that?

i agree dont judge someone on their posting numbers it doesnt mean shit...base it on their already built reputation...

Except for the vets and old time mods, I would say this is 110% true. Look at Doofy, he has over a thousand posts, and he will give out some whacky advice, that could get a new guy to juice killed. But, I've seen a few guys with a few hundred posts that always seem to have something good to contribute to the board. I say it's all an individual basis thing.

Number of posts has nothing to do with the intelligence or experience of the poster. However, when someone with four posts encourages you to trust someone with 6 posts it sends up a red flag in my mind.

Worthless thread jockeys.

There are many quality/knowledgeable brothers hangin' as well. Leverage the archives and your ignore list to truly exploit the value of the forum.

LOL...You get the same thing on every board...There's always going to be a few guys who have 30 posts per day casue they post on every damn thread that they can think of something for...

the problem is that whenever some 1 posts on ANY of the BOARDS, it counts in their total-so some 1 who posts 99% of the time on the chat board can have more posts than a steroid expert, but really know zero about steroids...

thats kind of like yesterday when i walked into a mercedes dealership wearing sweats, sunglasses and an addias beanie cap...so i asked the salesman could i test drive the new G500, he paused for a second and asked me if i could afford it or was i just looking for a joy ride...i said...hmmmmm and proceded to take out my black american express card and relpied if i couldnt afford do you think i would be issued one of these...and he said oh i'm sorry i truly didnt mean to insult you....i said " yeah i'm sorry to you are stupid enough to judge a person by what he is wearing and now you just blew a 80k sale"

sometimes it pays to keep an open mind:D

I've noticed that myself in alot of people I don't pretend to know everything and I help when I can to the best of my knowledge but I spent alot of the first 3 to 4 months on the search before I even thought of posting that is why I only have a few post and been here for several months.

I definitly agree. There is one person, not mentionning any names, but who is 17 and has over 5000 posts and IMO doesn't know really dick all. He posts mostly in the general chat forum, ( I check to see how he had so many posts and didn't know dick).

It is extremely important to only post advice well you are well informed about a topic. The way this board works is based on the advice of others and it is up to each board member to know when they should post and when they should just read. As you start to learn more then you can pick out the good advice from the bad. It is always important to question everything you read and understand it thouroughly and not blindly follow advice from someone you have never met and who has no credentials.

Believe half of what you read and less of what you hear. I will listen to what most people have to say but after reading a few lines of any post you can pretty much tell when someone is talking out their ass.

The key to finding reliable information is"CROSS REFERENCING"
