As a senior member of the board I'm constantly conscious of not coming off too preachy or to recall the "old days" too much. I believe in living in the moment and most of my friends are under 39. I realize the attitude toward bodybuilding and steroids is not that of 1970. Nothing stays the same.
However...
...considering recent tragic circumstances it may be time to throw this out there without sounding out of place.
Bodybuilding is about many things -- appearance, pride, strength, confidence, and being just plain better than the average guy. But it is also about radiant health and vitality. That should be the main objective.
Of course, steroids gives us a big boost in some of these areas but when it comes at the expense of the most precious, our health, the consequences of overuse of drugs can be dire. And as we found out, it isn't something we'll have to worry about in 20 years, or 10 years down the line. It's something that can occur before it's too late to do anything about it.
It's great to see that the use of DNP and insulin is way down. Even clen isn't used as much. But we still need to be careful. These are serious compounds. They should be treated with the utmost reverence and admiration. Yes, admiration. They are amazing -- which is why excessive use is so gluttonous and unnecessary. And one more thing. We should approach them with fear. That's right. Be afraid. Instead of thinking of extending that cycle to 16 weeks because it's so awesome, you should be worrying what damage you've done in the last 8.
Guys who are 18% bf are doing cutters. Guys who will never step on stage asking about GH. And any way you slice it, central nervous system stimulants are playing russian roulette with your heart. DO NOT fuck with that shit. Arnold, Draper, Zane, Scott -- those guys didn't use clen or ephedra. What the fuck makes you better than them? Wake up people. This isn't a joke. Some of this shit will hurt you and hurt you bad. We do not need any more tragedies.
Bodybuilding is an amazing lifestyle. And although I don't expect everyone to live a squeaky clean life, as bodybuilders we must show respect for our bodies. When I'm 60 I want to be healthy, disease and ailment free, and I expect to have a rock hard cock! THAT is what this is all about. Not looking jacked at 27 and in a hospital at 32.
I know these messages don't have longevity. Everyone grieves for a while, then forgets, then moves on. But if this message stays with just one person long enough to maybe prevent a fatal error, it's worth it.
Stay safe my brothers. There's lots of lifting to do.
