Last week my shoulder started giving me pains. I took about a week off, it was feeling pretty good so I benched today. First rep came down and it hurt like hell. It cracked or made a popping sound a few times, but it only really hurts when i raise it and bring it forward, really bad now, when im not lifting anything. Any ideas what it could be, or what I should do? (obviously take some time off, which ill be doing)

Time off is unfortunately best for you right now. NOW GO SEE A DOC!

Look at me, I'm on the Weight Training Board.

Time off, then doctor, then when you bench again (Once you are fully recovered) Bench light and easy and make sure you are not pushing the injury back again. Working out real easy a few times in a row is will let you test how the joint is feeling and strengthen it before getting back to your old weights.

Yo may try Active Release Technique (ART)

dudes got it....my Chiro does ART and it works great. Alot of people(mnay who are smarter than me)swear by it to help heal injuries
