Not real happy with doc

So I've been using 200mg per week of test cyp and got blood work results back a few days ago. Total test levels were 1200, free test was right at the top of the range and estradial was in the middle, though I want to get it a tad lower since it did go up a bit. All other levels were good as was prostate and even blood pressure was right at normal. I am pretty much exactly where I want to be and I feel GREAT!

But my doc says that 1200 is too high so he lowered my dose to 150mg/wk to be retested in a month to see if it won't lower my test level. I expressed how happy I was with the results and why can't we leave well enough alone. Well, you know how most docs are - they know what's right and nobody is going to tell them any different. I can tell that he won't be happy until I'm closer to 800-900 total test and there's nothing I can do to change his mind. BTW, I'm 42 years old.

I don't have a lot of options for TRT docs in my area and feel like I'm a bit stuck. I don't really know what to do. Am I right to be upset or is my doctor right and I'm wrong?

I'm in the Eastern Washington state area if anyone has any ideas.

Sorry for the length of this post.

Ha. That's what I thought too but he told me, "I want you to come in next Tuesday so there is one week between your last shot and the time we draw bloood" then he writes it down to remind himself next time he sees me. Unfortunately, he is paying attention.

artificial, he doesn't negotiate. He is one of these doctors that is going to do what he's going to do regardless of anything I want. Kind of irritates me because I'm not a kid and I'm not looking for whopping doses or anything - I just know that everything was great the way it was and I don't understand why he has to change it.

I don't see what the problem is, take much less then what he wants or don't take any at all so your levels drop.

He's practicing defensive medicine. In reality. 1200 is too high for "normal" and if he knowingly keeps you at a high level and it causes you harm in some way, then he's legally liable..... I cant say that I blame him, but yeah....it sucks.

I know....I guess I've read about other people's doctors allowing them to be in the 1200-1300 range so maybe my expectations are too high. You are right, though. He does have to protect himself in this litigious day and age. Thanks for the reality check.

Or you can get a few bottles of test on your own and do 200mg a week.
Doc gives you 150mg /week...you need 50mg extra
You figure, 50mg x 52 weeks =2600
One bottle has 200x10=2000. Pretty much an extra bottle can last you 1 year
Everytime you get tested lower dosage a bit and you golden. If you buy 5 bottles of 250mg/ml @ 10ml per bottle you talking about 5 years of this bro:)
