Any links or whatever would be helpful. I'm new to this.

Trying to figure all this heart rate stuff out. How does one figure out how much cardio etc will get one to the optimum fat/calorie burning HR range?

Those charts are garbage. You would have to have a V02 Max Test done. No one even knows the origin of those charts.

I am guessing you are wanting zone two. A rule of thumb might be to just run at a comfortable pace you think you could do forever and have a conversation at.

Zone two uses up to 100% of the slow twitch muscles in your legs that principally burn fat stores and not glygocen.

there's not really a magic number when it comes to HR, because everyone is different. You just have to experiment. Try doing low intensity 65%mhr for a week or 2, then try 75-85%. Personally, I go for the 75-85% because it was recommended to me the most and it worked.

Couldn't agree more on that...

Exactly my case: 75-85% all the way for 45min straight, 6 times a week... and you will see the fat melt...

Do you have a heart rate monitor? you just take your age and subtract it from 220 to get your max hr. then 85% of that is how many bpm you need to get to go 85%mhr
