I do not care because I am a dumb sheep and am not politically, or socially aware....hell I do not even know who I am cus I am super materialistic, egocentric, and selfish and I like it that way

Alas, I am so old, I went to some of Chomsky's infamous teach-ins regarding Vietnam. He has an amazingly powerful intellect and blew my baby mind away. I also recall seeing a conversation between him and Michel Foucault on the locus of constraints of power (intrapsychic or in the culture) and it was breathtaking.
HIs work on linguistics has endured without much controversy. Really, he is the Copernicus of linguistics. But, of course, it's his political dissidence, resurfacing because of 9/11, that is so problematic for people. His work has been hotly debated in "The Nation" (check their website) for months.
Do not even consider not going to hear him. Such minds are rare and, yes, dangerous in the best sense of the word.
