I came back home to PA for 2 weeks....on the way back, I was at a truck stop and after 2 McD's sausage and egg biscuits, I got on one of those 25 cent scales and with cell phone and keys in pocket, I weighed in at 222, ....the consolation prize is I have some wikked abz, lol, but enough is enough, time to get jacked.

Since it's a new journal, some background. I'll be 28 in June, been lifting since I was 13.....some PRs, deadlift (585x5), Flat Bench (425x1), Back Squat (525x1), Power Clean (315x3), Hang Clean (330x1), Behind the neck push press (285x3)....I'm not there now, but I am gonna try to get back....I got 3 months of sporadic lifting, then took the past 2 weeks off to study for law school finals....

Tuesday 4/24/07

Power Clean bunch of warm-ups, 135x3, 185x3, 205 x 5 sets of 3

Flat Bench: 135 x a bunch, 225x5, 245x5, 265x5, 275x5, 285x5, 245x10

Incline D-Bells: 95s x 12-8-8

D-Bell skullcrushers: 50s x 12-12-12

Weighed in at 223, lol.....I'll post the day's eating a little later, I am guesstimating over 5,000 cals and it's only 8 30pm

Good stuff.

I think your journals should be required reading for juice board regs and newbs -- they show that eating a lot and getting strong lead to results :D

Also, forgive me for sounding incredibly geigh, but could you post pics of what you look like now? I ask this so that people can see that it's OK to eat like a madman in order to gain weight, and subsequently diet down when it's appropriate to do so.
EDIT: truth be told, I need incentive to diet. You and I have similar builds and I'd like to see what I'd look like lean :)

babyT.. sounds like a gangsta rapper

I dont need pics but look forward to seeing you back in stretchpants rather than legal slacks.

I'll try to get some pics up.....

Here's the diet from today:

Breakfast: omlette with 4 whole eggs, ham, sausage, peppers and onions....home fries.....toast.....coffee....orange juice

Snack: 48g On Whey in whole milk (I found On whey on sale at 5lb tubs for $25, so I picked up 2, I thought it was a good buy)

Lunch: 2 triple decker turkey and ham sandwiches w/ mayo, baked Lays, whole milk

Snack: 48g On Whey, triple decker PB and Jelly sandwich, 2 bananas

Preworkout: PB and J sandwich, banana, water

Postworkout: 1.5lbs of sirloin, green beans, 2 bags of 'boil in bag' rice, whole milk

Post dinner: Boston Cream doughnut, lol

1.5 pounds of meat in a sitting is real man ish right there..and I know u can do much more than that no problem.

oh my! you have shrivelled up and now we can all point at you and laugh!

j/k... we need to sticky a link with the pics and the journal in the AAS forum ;)

Maybe we can call you Rick "biggT" Collins. What you plan on doing with that law degree? You got some good stats. Can't wait to see the progress. Beginning of summer season is a bad time for this bulking but I say fuck it. I am trying to get up to 250 myself and almost there.

Perp

This should be a sticky for all the newbs wondering why they cant gain weight.

By the way where in PA are you from biggt? Right now I go to college in westmoreland county but I live in Beaver.

'LeanT' is pretty hot... but you know what they say about bigger being better. I can't wait to see the pictures & please keep us posted on the 'diet'.

4/25/07

Back Squat: 135x a bunch, 225x5, 275x5, 315x5x5

Pendlay Row: 135x a bunch, 185x5, 205x5, 225x5, 245x5

Chins with a reverse grip: Bodyweight x 11-10-9-9

Alt. DB curl: 50s x 12-12-12

Squats were light, but I feel my conditioning is piss poor right now, so I hope I didn't over-do it...my traps are killing me from power cleans yesterday, this is actually the sorest I can remember them being from anything....if my legs are excessively sore too tomorrow, I might do some light snatches and a little treadmill walking or something, even though I planned on taking the day off.

Today's diet...

Breakfast: 4 whole eggs, 4 strips of bacon burned to a crisp, 3 slices of WW toast, milk

Snack: 48g whey in 2 cups milk

Lunch: 1lb of ground beef, 2 bags of 'boil in bag' rice, salad, milk

Snack: 48g whey in skim milk, PB and J sandwich

Pre-workout: 1 slice of pizza and some gatorade

Post-workout: Mexican restaurant....Fajitas with 1lb of chicken, 2 beef enchaladas on the side, and about a million tortilla chips.

Good god... I thought that I could eat a lot... I feel like a midget now...

SORE today...traps on fire from cleans and the squats were crippling, lol....probably should've went with 225 or 275 the first day back squatting, oh well, can't turn back the clock now.....I'm gonna head to the gym in a bit to do some dumbell snatches, abs, calves, and maybe a treadmill walk......I'll post up the diet later.....My appetite is back and out of control.

Ended up doing a little active recovery type workout

Dumbell Snatch (5 reps each arm / 5 sets) 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 100s

Decline Situps: BW x 20-20-20

30 minutes on incline treadmill walking

Fri. 4/27/07

Behind-the-neck push press: 135x5, 185x5, 195x5, 205x5, 225x3, 235x3 (felt great to do these again)

Close-Grip Bench: 135x8, 225x1, 265x5x5 (good, easy and solid)

Flat D-Bells: 100sx 10-8-7 (I'll stay here and run the reps up to 15 eventually)

Damn it Bigg T, why did you start a new journal? I gained like 20 pounds on your last journal. Have the gods no mercy?? j/k Bro. I have always enjoyed reading your posts about training and diet. You sir, are a class act and a hardcore lifter. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words, 45lbbar...

I'll post today's diet.

Breakfast: Omlette with 4 whole eggs, bacon burned to a crisp, 3 slices of WW toast, milk

Snack: 48g whey in 2 cups milk

1st Lunch: 3 chilli dogs and a diet Dr Pepper

2nd Lunch: 2 cans tuna mixed with mayo and a whole wheat bagel and milk

Preworkout: 1 large McDonald's coffee and 1 oatmeal raisin cookie

Postworkout: 48g whey and 2 cups milk

Dinner: Homemade meatloaf (a lot), 2 baked potatoes, broccoli, milk, sliver of cake

It's 7:30 and I am nowhere near done yet.

i'm only here for the diet advice, don't mind me

nice weights to be 'getting back into' , fatten back up to the 250's and see how much damage you can do in the squat rack. I'm betting 2 months to get back to fighting weight

Did some lifting this afternoon

Front Squat: 135x5-135x5- 225x5, 245x5, 265x5, 275x3, 290x3, 300x3, 305x3, 245x8

Deadlift: 225x5, 315x5, 405x5, 455x5

Jump Shrug: 315x8, 405x8, 455x8

Barbell Curls: 95x5, 115x5, 125x5, 125x5, 130x5, 115x12

Good day. I can feel the added cals doing their thing.....nothing was hard, I wish I went heavier on the DL, but no biggie, I've got plenty of time.

lol @ "maybe something for biceps"...you know you never miss a chance to curl. Speaking of which, how big are the gunz at this lower weight? :rainbow: IIRC, you were at 19"+ (converted to e-stats, 27") when you were in the 250s.

I have a somewhat similar split. Now I dont feel so oddball with a push/ pull split and leg work 4 times a week.

Nothing's oddball man....just organize in a way that lets you add numbers to the lifts, thats all that matters.

BiggT, I don't come to this board much anymore, but always enjoyed reading your log and seeing how you approached your training. Seeing that you've started back up makes me glad that I visited again, and I'll certainly follow along.
