I went to the doctor for a cortisone shot in my left shoulder and the nurse that takes me back asks me how my right shoulder is doing. I explain that it's my left one and she goes "well they have the right shoulder written down. I explain that no, it is in fact my left shoulder and she leaves. Ten minutes later the doc. comes in to give me my shot and tells me I need to move so he can get to my right shoulder. I remind him that is in fact my left shoulder and he's like "oh yeah, that's right". The first time I went there, the x-ray tec. kept trying to x-ray the right shoulder. She took three x-rays and every time she kept turning me so she could shoot my right.


I just love going to these company doctors, they are so competent.

It's work related so I have to see their doctor..........for now.

A few years ago, my mom went to have a bunion removed from her left foot. She was on the gurney about to be wheeled in to the op. room, and the doc did one final check over her chart. He was like, "So we're going to be operating on your right foot today, huh?" She was like, "Uhh...NO! It's the other one!" Good thing they checked with her.

Reminds me of the story in Florida where they amputated the wrong leg on a patient!

I guess it all goes to show ya..BRING A BIG BLACK MARKER WITH YOU TO THE HOSPITAL TO INDICATE WHAT IS LEFT AND RIGHT FOR THEM....GEEEEESH!

Happens here all the time.

400 pound man went in for knee replacement - fucking dr. did the wrong knee - now the 400 pound guy has TWO bad knees....know for a fact that it is true my best friend works in his office

Most people are right handed, so if they are going to fuck up a shoulder it'll be the right one. Thats probably why they kept going for the wrong shoulder.

I've also heard about the horror stories of people getting the wrong part removed or operated on. Always make sure with you doc that he knows what side to do, BEFORE going under the knife! You don't want to take any chances.

He still screwed up the shot!!!

He gave it like a regular shot, just a little deeper. It is supposed to go deep into the joint.

I just wonder how much he charged my company for this little visit?
