I've never understood why this show gets so much hype every years. It's always loaded with cannon fodder, ie the guys that usually have NO shot at winning anything else. A decent show for 1st & 2nd year pro but not much else. I don't see Victor Martinez doing much better with calves like his.

Yeah calves are clearly his weak point. In fact, they looked loaded with oil to me. Funny, with all the coverage on Muscle Mayhem, not one mention of this point. Surprised me.

From the pictures it looks like several got into pretty good condition, but, Martinez & Pavel were the only ones that were really on.

The show probably gets good hype because its the only thing that really fills the gap between the spring shows and the Mr. O.

i think they pretty much pick and choose who they mark down for synthol and who thel let slide by without being deducted

I can't fathom why pros would use synthol. You'd think it'd be so obvious that their bodypart has grown too quickly. I admit I can't tell easily by looking for the smoothness, it isn't something I think about that much though. Maybe that's why they risk it. I'd just hate to have to keep pumping that same amount of oil all the time. It's the lie you have to keep telling over and over again.

Professional Bodybuilding is a bitch of a way to make a living. The top couple guys make decent money, and it declines rapidly from there. Hell, a masters degree and 15 years of hard work and I likely make more than atleast 80 or 90% of them. And these are athletes that are in the top 1% of what they do. There's tons of people that do what I do. Its a friggin' shame that Weider pubs can do $60 million a year in cashflow and the pros are scraping by. Further, what "career path" do these guys have after competing? Thier lucky if they get hooked up with some supplement company and can start earning a decent wage. At least pros in other sports can make enough while they play that they don't have to worry about what they will do when they retire. And they likely don't damage thier bodies as much as pro bb'rs. Ok, I'll step off my soap box......
