Excellent forum- some questions!
Alright fellas, I came over here from muscle-mag. Seems there are much more posts and info in the search/history on this site then muscle-mag.
Anyway, I've been taking 6g of 8 distinct BCAAs before and after my workout. These BCAAs are in pill form and I buy all 8 separately. Unfortunately, it has become a major drain on my wallet. So I want to cut back on the BCAAs or maybe even stop taking them all together.
I take: lysine (1000mg), leucine (1200mg), isoleucine (600mg), valine (600mg), phenylalanine (1000mg), methionine (500mg), threonine (500mg), histidine (500mg), and sometimes arginine (1000mg).
I've also been reading up on r-ala and s-ala on this forum and want to give r-ala a try. In addition, I also take about 3-4g of Vitamin C, ZMA, Multivitamins/minerals, creatine mono, and glutamine pep.
Question:
What should I do? Stop taking the BCAAs and start taking the r-ala instead or sacrifice some BCAAs and take the r-ala with the leftover BCAAs? What's the logical and most economical thing to do here? -I'm bulking.
Also, I understand that I should take about 100mg of r-ala before each meal...but how much before and after the workout? and should I take any with my protein shake before I go to bed?
Also, Vitamin C works as an antioxidant...so should I stop taking that since I will be taking r-ala which has the properties of an antioxidant as well. Is an antioxidant an antioxidant or do they vary?
Lots of Questions- Help really appreciated.
