Newbie seeking advice

Well a little about myself first...I am 5'6" and weigh between 140 and 145 depending on the time of the month. I have a small body frame and that is why i can carry a lot of weight but not look too big. I had a baby back in july of 2000 and ever since then have been flabby...i returned to my prepregnancy weight right away, even a little smaller, but am a lot flabbier than before.
I started working out and changed my diet a month ago and do see results, but still have stubborn fat blobs on the sides of my lower back behind my hips. That has always been my trouble spot and no matter how much i do, i can't seem to get rid of it. I was wondering about any diet supplements such as adipokinetix or something without ephedra that works. I have been reading here that adipo has yohimbe in it which is supposed to target lower body fat. I have read that people have seen results with this. Can someone recommend a some sort of cycle for me using adipo and maybe guggulbolic and yohimbie. And i have been looking into Clen, but am not sure if it would be ok to take while on Zoloft which is an antidepressant. I also have some loose flabby skin on my lower stomach and was wondering if anyone has used skin firming lotion and if it really works.
I have been reading these boards for a while before i decieded to join and just want everyone to know you have all been a real inspiration for me to get my butt in gear and do something about my body. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Hi audacious one...... I just wanted to comment on the firming lotion, and to tell you to save your money. I think any type of lotion such as those, are pretty much a waste. ( only my opinion) Just doing crunches and any other exercises to target the abb area will help tighten that lose skin up.

Besides you starting a clean diet, and working out with weights, you should start toning up nicely. If you need assistance on what exercises target what area, then talk to the staff at your gym. I am sure they can start you on a program, if you havent done so already.

I cant help you on any supplements, mainly cause i have never used what you are enquiring about. I have used hydroxy cut and xenadrine, and do really like the hydroxy.I am sure you can get lots of advice here on the board about yohimbe and virtually whatever else it is you desire to know about :)

Best of luck and welcome to the elite board.

First off, i don't go to a gym b/c of time conflicts with my husband's job and having a 15 month old to look after. We have a variety of weights and a treadmil here at home and our little home gym will be expanding soon.
To answer spatterson's question, i am not sure of my body fat, i only did the generic formula to find out what it is and am not sure of how accurate it is, but it came out to 23% which is on the high end of normal. My diet includes several small meals a day including tuna, turkey breast sandwiches with wheat bread and mustard, carnation instant breakfast for snacks or apples, peaches, carrots and celery. Chicken breasts for dinner along with vegtable soup. I sometimes eat yogurt and drink skim milk. I used to eat a lot of processed foods and have really cut back. I do have one day a week where i eat whatever i want.
I do about 20-30 minutes on the treadmil each morning around 10 after getting my son up and feeding him, then i do some weights and ab work...i usually do that 4-6 times a week. And 3-5 times a week i do cardio for 30-40 minutes in the evening around 6:30 or so and also do some weight training then also. On some mornings where my son is too crabby to go to the basement with me to work out, i do my tae bo 8 minute workout in the living room just to at least get my heart pumping and keep me on track. Then i try to do some weights and ab work.
I am currently not on any supplements.
Hope that helps, if you need to know anything else, let me know.

Oh yeah, it is really hard to keep a good diet around here also seeing my husband is trying to gain 40-50 lbs and has a lot of tempting foods around here...but so far i am keeping control, but it is REALLY hard!

I think he knows that, but his doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. I personally think he looks real good, but he is very self conscous about how he looks and wants to gain weight whether it be fat or muscle.
I think that maybe i should also add that i am a smoker, a light smoker, 5-8 a day, but a smoker none the less and i know it's a terrible habit, but i am so afraid of gaining weight if i smoke. Is it ok to take any supplements while smoking?

yeah, i know, i think though now the more i work out, the more i know i can quit b/c it was hard enough for me to get the motivation to work out, so i know if i can work out and stick to it, i can quit smoking. It's hard, but i will do it. And just for the record, my husband and i never smoke in the house and my son has never been around smoke, so i think now with the wisconsin winters coming, i won't want to stand out in the cold to smoke so then maybe i can do it.

I smoked for 10 years......quit almost 5 years ago. Give the crap up girl.....bad for you.....and those around you. It is in no way going to help you on that road to being healthy.......

Its hard to do.....but you know what scared me?? Seeing people hooked up to the oxygen, shopping at walmart, and me wondering, if they wished now that they would of quit???

Gotta tell you also....nothing worse than a reformed smoker. I hate the smell of it, and despise my kids being around it.

Just get on a major health kick and quit...... do your body good ;)

Spatts was right on the hand mouth thing......for the reason put on weight after quiting. I know everyone is diferent, but I didnt gain any weight after quiting.

BTW---cool that you guys have the equipment to workout at home.....saves in gym costs :)

Let's get back to my original topic...can anyone else offer any advice on supplements or exercises for the sides of my lower back or any suggestions on diet.
