New Workout Plan

I just changed around my workout plan a little bit, just thought I would post it to see what everyone thought of it. Constructive critism would be appreciated :D

Oh yeah, just to explain... 2 exercises in the same cell means that they are supersetted, otherwise they are just regular sets with about 1min rest between sets.

i personally wouldn't hit my calves before my squats... it would probably mess up my squats... (which i'd do more of 3-4 sets, not including a couple warmup sets...)

if you're trying to concentrate on your calves, the best thing to do would probably be to move them out of your leg day...

maybe add some pullups/pulldowns to your back day... you're not getting much lat work out of that routine....

any cardio? (the reason that i ask is this - what i've been doing lately is doing what i call 'mini workouts' after my cardio (which i do in the am 3-4 days a week)... those include my calves, my abs and sometimes by bis or tris.... its really allowed me to fit everything in a lot better (i do my heavy or compound lifts (legs, back chest or shoulders) in the evening... ))

i guess if you posted your goals with this plan i'd (or someone else) would be able to help more...

what version of windows is that anyways? ME? or does 2000 have skins?

Reps are a bit high overall for my taste ;) , but....

-Way too many sets for abs

-Too many reps for legs

-I would put in more squats and fewer accessory lifts. 2 sets of squats, 8 sets of far less effective exercises?

-I don't see the point of a separate arm day. Are you taking steroids? (serious question. You're working your triceps 3x a week, and at one point one day after the other.)

-All 3 of your back exercises are blasting your traps. Only one of them hits your lats. Throw in a pull-up motion.

Those are just the things I can think of right off. Overall I like the routine, though.

Thanks for the replies.. I guess you could say my goals are strength and getting cut because I just put on 20lbs of mucsle in the last 6 months but also a little fat. Ok as for the squats, I had 4 sets but I work out at home so I just changed to to 2 sets of higher reps because I need a squat rack, the hardest thing about my squats are lifting the weight over my head. I have the calve raises first as a warmup because they really don't wear me out or anything (I have no cardio right now). I will change that once I get my gym membership but for the time being I have lots of equipment that will do the trick. I work my tri's once a week, and its better to have your arms on the same day because you just exhaust them with other excersises if you do them on a different day (eg. back, bis or chest, tris) and you can't lift as much, a while ago that was how my routine was. No offense belial but I have seen some posts of your routine and it looks pretty bad, thanks for you input though. As for the back day, I was looking for something to go in there besides pulldowns, that is what I have been doing and I don't get anything from them what else could I throw in there?
Phemomena that is Windows XP, pretty cool eh?

Hey drew, I think it looks real solid overall. However I agree with Belial on your leg day. It's a little high in volume for me as well. I think you'd do well to up the weight and lower the sets and reps, especially if you're going for strength. This will be especially true once you start to hit the cardio; then you wont need as much of the high-rep stuff.

Looks good bro, good luck with it!

PS, don't forget the diet!!!!

I hate how XP looks personally I installed in on my lil bros comp, the big blue default borders (ok they just look bigger) make me feel like its some old ass OS, where everything is clunky. He likes it but if I were using it I would return it to the classic setting bleh.

ROFL.

Why the f*ck do i even bother with some of you people.

bigpoppa, your a dumbass, pullups don't work? Maybe cause you don't do them right. Add them in and listen to Belial, he may only weigh 115 lbs. and have 25% bodyfat, but, he knows more shit then you.

That is a good question
I meant no offense by it though but I am doing great with the plan and thanks for the advice, I think I probably will change the leg extensions and leg curls down from 4 sets each down to 3 but I love working my legs so much. Also I am going to do my squats first instead of calve raises and do 3 sets of squats as opposed to 4 like I used to do before making this plan. As for the back what else besides pulldowns would be good for lats? keeping in mind that I have tons of freeweights and a universal gym at my disposal? thanks everyone for the posts

Nice first post jackass.. I said I don't like pulldowns not pullups. You like pullups though right? are you a big kid now? lmfao!!
I can do pulldowns but I want to switch with something else because I am not getting the results I want, not everyone gets the same results from the same things. Dope!

Easy, drew. Heath was just messing around.

I know you like working your legs, and I think reducing the numbers there is a good idea. How much weight do you have (freeweights, I mean) SLDLs and front squats are both excellent, and doing those instead might be an idea.

For lats, bent-over DB rows are great, but the pulldown motion is still king. Can you do pull-ups? Weighted pull-ups?
