alright well im moving my way out of the house and into a gym its a gym on a navel base. i am jsut wondering if there is a set routine that i can possiably get to give me a starting point on what i should be doing. im tring to loose alot of weight well not alot but the water weight and stuff. i got the cardio down i got a routine for that. but for weight lifting for me acually getting stronger and more muscle is kind of a brain fart . im 6'3 and im around 270 ish i say.

Sick with the big heavy compound movements for the first 3-6 months. Lots of squats, bench, and deadlifts. You can also add in some auxiliary exercises lie hypers, tri pulldowns, etc.

Since you are trying to lose weight, I want you to remember 2 things:

1) Fat weighs less than muscle. Instead of measuring yourself by what the scale reads, you should be more interested in your body fat %.
2) Once you have a solid base of strong muscle, your metabolism will naturally increase, helping burn excess calories and fat.

There are a lot of good solid programs out there. However, many of them get really complicated and put the beginner in a situation where they are focusing on the micro aspects of their workouts rather than the larger picture. Read up on Bill Starr and Mark Rippetoe. Both have some excellent routines that may fit your needs at the present time. Once you get through a cycle or two of those, then we can start talking about where to go next.

Just remember to keep your diet clean, lift hard, and don't split hairs about what type of curl you should be doing.

squats, dips, bench, dead lift. start out light enough that you can get 2 easy sets of 10 and the thirs set is a little hard and the 4th moderately hard 3x per wk until you get used to the lifts. learn about proper form and practice this especially on squats and dl's. they can criple you if done wrong. once your used to it and comfortable maybe in about a month start focusing on adding weight and keep a log of progress. we are all different just keep an open mind, read, and keep trying stuff until you figure out what works best for you.

cardio is counter productive to muscle growth. controll your bf with diet. high protein high fat, low carb, eat your veggies. once your bf is at an acceptable level raise the carbs and watch your lifts get stronger.
