I want to start lifting, Nothing crazy.. just to get in shape and build some muscle, in the arms and stomach area.

I dont want to spend alot of money on equipment

But i just dont know where to start. i was looking at somthing like this

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...Strength+Training&sName=Weight+Benches+&+Sets

Which is only 80lbs, But the thing is i dont know where to start, i dont know whether to get a bench or dumbells or anything..
i dont know the correct weights im going to need

Can You guys give me some insight, and where to start?

I wanna end up spending about 300 on everything, but i just dont know wheer to start, what to do etc..

No, no, no.

The problem is, you are starting from a point in which you don't know what you don't know. Everyone's been there at some point.

First, read the stickies because you just want to "build some muscle, in the arms and stomach area." Read the training stickies to understand why that is the wrong approach.

Then, join an actual gym. Try to find a place that lets you use chalk, has squat racks and lots of free weights. Hint: this probably won't be a place like "LA Fitness".

Once you have some idea of what you are doing, THEN you can think about purchasing equipment to use at home, and whether or not you would actually use it at home.

The bench and weight set linked to are junk, BTW.

dido to what beerdrinker said, there's alot of programs out there so just keep it simple for a few months and see what happens.if its your first time lifting or its been awhile,i'd stick to core lifts for a bit.

This is great advice. I'd listen to this guy.
