New guy needs help

Hey everyone. Have some questions and not 100% sure how the whole forum thing works but it seems that there are a lot people here that are sure of themselves so I figured I'd give this place a look.

I'm in high school. I recently took a weight lifting class got the basics of it but it was my first time. I am not a naturally big person but I know I can get there. I have three brothers that are 3-8 years older than me and have all gone from looking like me to being the biggest kids of a 2000 kid high school. Before I started the class, I was weighing 100-110, now, one year later, I'm weighing 140. Am now a sophmore not currently in any weight lifting program yet. So, I'm here for advice on how to gain weight and muscle without doing anything particularly unhealthy. I am not looking become a bodybuilder or look like one, I just want to get a little muscle on me. So if anyone has been in my situation at some point or anyone that can give me general advice on what I should do. (food suggestions, starting workouts etc.)

Thanks a lot.

Possibly the beginner 3*5 and a diet where you eat every 2 hrs high in protein with some good carbs. Lots of meat, eggs, milk...

theres a lot you can do. what sports do you play? in highschool they usually make you lift a certain way for certain sports. in general, try to get in 30-40 grams of protein every 2-3 hours to start.

Forgot to mention that. I meant to ask about tips for people that don't play sports. I don't play at the moment however was planning to play basketball later in the year. So for now, I just need some advice for simple workouts and eating habbits.

Drink a gallon of Winstrol - stanozolol a day. Find your favourite muscle mag and copy the routine. That along with maxi muscle will make you look like Ronnie in about 3 months.

I think the 3x5 is the way to go, also. To be successful in the gym you have to start with the basics in order to develop the neural and muscular skills needed to progress. This is just the way the human organism is put together. You can't jump in midstream and expect anything but frustration. You won't go wrong with Repptoe's program.

My one piece of advice: There's a diffference between 'working out' and training. Training means making a serious lifestyle commitment. It means eating the right foods, getting enough sleep at night, having the total mindset you need in order to get to where you want to go. Your time isn't about pushing X amount of weight but about beating your last effort every time you walk into the gym. It doesn't necessarily mean more weight, but improvement some way. Another rep, better control, something that tells you you're doing better than last time. Develop the positive mental attitude you need to acheive a serious goal and do it now.
