New exercises for AR (videos)

Dude...that is freaking cool. And yeah...that would be AR...especially for the brain. A lot of loving lifting is having something in your life that is fun...that is totally non-related to lifting.

Nice... those double taps are a bitch to place on center arent they? Looked like your pistol targets were 20+yards, good shooting.

Thanks guys. Training courtesy of USMC... at least the rifle shooting.

Here's a pic of me in 1991

pretty good shot.
well, better than me, as i dont think ive even seen a gun

That sucks rjl. I used to do 1000 yard competition when I was hs. Too time consuming, and doesn't yeild the fullfillment that I get from bodybuilding.

I think Swain will need a video of those 1000 yard shots :D

LoL, I have witnesses.... and I never won a tournament, but I could hit a 12" bull at 1000 yards... most of the time. I've missed a few times though. Way too time consuming though. I spent more time at the rifle range than I do at the gym now. Screw that.

What kind of rifle were you using?

I always liked the 500 yard range when we qualified... got to lay down, take your time, lock in tight, and hit those big sillouettes.

thats cool.......... but for it to have been TRUE AR, you would have needed to hold the gun with 1 hand and do some tricep band ext with your free hand, thats the only modification i would make.

Last one was a customized remington 700 (actually the only model I liked), chambered in .300 win mag. I've used the 7 mm rem. mag successfully as well. Right, for a long shot it takes a few minutes to set up your shot. At the range, with no time constrants I've waited 15 to 20 mintues. And ideally you need red flags every 50 yards to judge wind-drift. Although high grass helps alot in that regard.

Anyway, every decent rifles I've ever used was a remington 700 of some type with 26" heavy barrel. I still have my match grade ar-15, but never really loved shooting it. It only seemed to have any acuracy up to 500 yards, although I only have a 1/9 twist barrel. Perhaps if I like a 1/7 and used a heavier projectile (80-90 grain sierra) things would be different.

Good call my man. I'll bring the bands next time.

When you get to that level of shooting it just seems too tedious to be fun. Sometimes it's nice just to open up.

I agree 100%, it is way too tedious to be fun. Now I just like to go out and plint outside from time to time. I'm not exactally a horrible shot (I can bust a soda can at 400 yards on my first try still), but a 1000 yard shot? Haha, I doubt it.

llllllol I just laughed like an animal when I saw this, this looks like a clip from commando training camp... remind me to never fuck with you loool

I'd post my active recovery, but it would get moved to "Between the Sheets."

Hahahaha. I swear I don't try, it just happens. Somebody needs to compile a book of all my one-liners.

:D

The Dang Army firewall here won't let me look at the vids, I guess that's why I did'nt reply sooner. as soon as you put up the avatar, I got the AR bit, though.

I gather the vids are you doing some weapon/shooter interface demonstrations. I may get an AR or a shotgun when I get home. Then again, I may turn my sportster into a 1200.

Guns, guitars & motorcycles.....Oh well, we gotta have hobbies, right?

The AR bit was a little play on words. I was wondering if anyone would get AR=Armalite and AR=Active Recovery... lol

The videos were just of me shooting at things with the AR, pistols, and some trap shooting. Boys and their toys.

I can post some screenshots for you.

Hey Mike, I thought you CA types were not allowed to own those "assault weapons" anymore. My double taps are not real good, usually first one through the target, second one through the roof of the range :)

They have to be registered as "assault weapons". You can't purchase that rifle in CA anymore.

Double taps are okay at 15 feet at a silhouette target. I was just foolin' about.
