Shadow, if we are going to have penalties for violations, its only fair to post rules. We need to know EXACTALLY what constitutes a violation of the karma rules. I may be wrong, but to my knowledge I've never seen a sticky listing rules for karma. If there is one, could up post a link to it here? Thank you.

well that's not exact, if the vehicle is worth something we might just steal it. and yes, for every non-approved karma thread, there's a 100 red karma penalty.

Is that just for the person who started the thread, or everyone who jumps in with a "hit me" too?
 
My main concern with this policy is that most of us on EF equate the # of little dots under our names to our self worth.

I know that when I finally got to the "legions of leprechauns" level I knew I was one great person. If the mods were to go and hit me with a lot of red karma, it could very well lead me down a dark path of depression.
 
1) Very specific karma rules should be stickied before this policy
is enacted

2) Matt is hitting people with red first....no...you're kidding...I'm

I don't normally agree with my spandex-challenged comrade here, but he is right on the money.

A list of "violations" needs to be posted.

Karma Policy.... Whoring will be stopped!!!!

-Starting a Karma thread: -150 +Moderator red K hits.
if the starter of the thread has less than 50 post he/she will be banned!(to prevent alter egos)

-Turning an unrelated thread into a Karma Thread: -100 +Moderator red K hits.

-posting “in” “hit me” on a Karma thread: -50 +Moderator red K hits

-posting on a Karma thread (anything) : leaves you open to Red K attacks by Mods.

Our moderators have been instructed to hit with Red K... anybody found in a Karma Thread. Guilty or innocent, you will be hit if you are found in a Karma thread, make no mistake about it!


There will be some more amendments and revisions made to this policy... I’ll keep you posted.

So wait, you said guilty or innocent... so if someone turns a thread into a karma thread after you post on it, you are on a karma thread and are innocent, yet will be kit with red karma? If that happens to anyone on EF, I've got a problem with that. Bare in mind, many karma threads start as regular threads, and someone changes it to one.
 
BBF, I think they are just trying to let us know they dont want us running K threads. Shadow had to lock 5 or six today. Anyway there is no more mega hit, you only get one hit from one person every 14-20 days at best. I was thinking we could suggest to Admin there should more K hits allowed than a measley 5 hits per day.

I think we should have 8-10 hits anyway. good grief why would that be a dilema?
 
No shit Shadow. The fun is waning lately.

The Mega Zaps of Karma have been disabled so what kind of overhead does whoring have? How can it be anything more than the regular posting of replies to threads?

Take away the fun of Karma and suggest that the evaluation of what is or isn't a karma thread is at the bias of a Mod is, well, stupid.

But since there is ALWAYS a balance I can't wait to see the post that outlines how we qualify for the 100+ Green Karma points.
1) Ratting out a Karma Thread
2) Recruiting a member to become Plat
3) Having Sex with a Mod
4) Ratting a source.

None-the-less I'm something of a karma whore, so I'll agree to have sex with velvette, spatts and pamela for 100 points each, but only under the condition that I get half of the points up front, so they don't try to cheat me out of my points.

I don't know about you guys but this is a gimmick on in internet chat board for God's sake!

It's not like there is money, someone's health, or international diplomacy on the line here. I don't know about you guys but if one of the little green dots disappeared from under my name I might be a little disappointed for a few minutes but honestly.....who gives a fuck in the grand sceme of things?

Where do we take Karma violation disputes to? For example BigRickRock...you hit me with red for a thread that was started before the enforcement of the karma rules...and the thread wasn't even a karma thread...it was a thread stating that a previous karma thread had been locked. I'm all for playing by the rules, but retroactive enforcement seems somewhat unfair.

Did back this morning, huge, now I'm full and must go to 2 other Turkey celebrations, one day out of the year all my meals are prepared for me. Sativas get the head right.
 
If one of you mods hit me with 100 points of red, I know I'll enter into a very deep level of depression for life and never be able to recover. I'll sue the whoel fuken board if that happens ! Beware!

My thoughts are... if you are going to Karma whore, you should at least be slick about it... If you can't be any more creative than to announce a “Karma Thread...” you deserve to be zapped.
We can never stop Karma Whoring, we can only Zap the ones we catch.

I have said this before and I will say it again. This only succeeds in driving the people who are addicted to karma further underground. Now there will be such a stigma attached to the "K" word that it will only be whispered, and even then only when you are in the company of those who have a similar addiction. Soon the addicts will be hanging out in the dark alleyways of the gambling and music boards trading karma. They will slink about with code words trying to get their daily fix. The black market will flourish. People will be trading pictures and other favors for that elusive little green dot. I can see this leading to the downfall of all civilization.

We are all doomed!:D
 
Cool, I got some red from code. Apparently, he is a delusional person who wanted the mod position for so long but wasn't awarded so he feels he is entitled to hitting people with red just like a mod would. That's fuken outstanding you fuken pogue motherufcker!

True...It has been long time since I used to take part in undergroung and sly K threads.......good times when MEGAZAP was such a powerful tool to punish assholes and reward good bros....Where are the real K whores? Millie, Strider, SOfaGeorege or Gymrat???

Lately too many blatant and shameful threads are taking over the cyberspace ...newbies trying to get some green quick resort to lousy karma threads ....

Karma whoring was fun when it was done deep underground or when disguised threads were used to get green dots and such...

Now when MegaZap was disabled and K daily allowance was reduced to only 5 hits a day......the fun and charm was raped!

As of late I only hit assholes with red and sometimes reward good bros or quality threads with green....For me karma threads have become too mundane and old......and I have no more desire and fun to take part or start such threads...The old good times are gone....*shedding a tear*...

LETS NOT FORGET THAT THIS IS THE FU**ING NET AND KARMA IS JUST FUN!

OAS.....WHO "MOVED BEYOND KARMA"...A WHILE AGO...
