New Deadlift World Record!!!

Benedikt Magnusson deadlifted an unbelievable 440kg or 970lbs this past weekend at a WPO meet in Helsinki. He did it at just under 350lb bw at ONLY 22 YEARS OLD!!!

i found a video link but i cant view it for some reason, somebody do a search for that biotch.

he attempted 1003 but didnt get it, from what i hear it was actually a pretty legit attempt.

im calling it now, this is the guy to break 1000lbs for the deadlift

Holy fucking shit, if that's true, absolutely amazing. IMO the DL is the best sign of true strength. The record has barely budged for, like, 30-40 years. If he really did 970, that's around a 35 lb jump when it's barely moved 35 lbs. in past 40-50 years. Holy crap.

trust me it's true, and yes, it is amazing that he absolutely crushed the record by that much.

andy bolton tried 441kg but missed it. there is a big controversy, well sort of, about this because it was a full power meet and bolton did squat and bench at full throttle. Where Magnusson took token lifts to save his strength. I think if Bolton did this he has a great chance of beating this.

ok i just downloaded Div X player (free) and it plays. very very impressive lifts. his first attempt of 426kilos was pretty easy for him. unbelievable. 455(1003lb.) was only about 2-3 inches off the ground, bolton tried it a while back and got it farther of the ground, after doing a full meet.

It does work if you install the DivX player like |lossman said. He picked it up pretty damn easy! What a great video. Thanks Chamb!

To get the player - DivX.com and just download the Free player bundle. Then just open the target file from your downloads folder.
