New and Ready Light Weight!

Hi guys so I'm new to this site and a bit new to working out. Use to play a little football and workout back in highschool, that went on a wrong turn so it ended. Now I'm back into wanting to workout not so much to get huge, but put on atleast another 20lbs. I'm currently 19 Y/O about 6'0 130lbs give or take a few lbs. So with that image in mind you can see I'm a real skinny guy. So I been working out with my buddy down my street at 24 Hour Fitness for about 2 weeks now and have seen myself gain a little weight. As far as diet goes I haven't actually put myself on one, but I have attempted to eat more and thats been working for me. I plan on making this a journal for myself and get a little help at the same time. I read mens fitness for the workout and other things, but what I really need help on is this diet I'm just not quite sure what I need to be doing. So if anyone has good diet tips would much appreciate that. I will be posting pics hopefully tonight or tomorrow night to start my before and after so to speak. Will also post my measurements and how much I'm working out with on each workout.

I am sure by 25 we can help you get to 180 easily. At a relatively low bodyfat I think that would look good on a guy your size. Diet obviously comes first and I applause your enthusiasm. First lets see what you really eat everyday or close to it. The plan is not to get you fat, like I have seen other very skinny guys do. People say to eat as much as you can and then some, then down a SuperFatMassStack Protein shake with 2000 calories, ( lol, no that's not a real supplement). So your BMR ( Basal Metabolic Rate) is about 1950. That means for you to stay the same weight and size, your body on it's own (without exercise) uses 1950 calories thoughout the day for energy. That means you need more calories taken in than expended. Also, clean food is a must while training. A cheat meal or 2 during the week is fine especially for someone your size. Check out the Diet Forum for a list of clean foods and sample diets.

Next, what is your training right now? This is the next most important thing for gaining lean muscle. If you aren't working out correctly, you won't see much of a change.

Let us know this stuff, and you're working out at a great time in your life where your hormones and testosterone levels are sky high! Use that to your advantage! I gained a good 40 lbs from 18- 22 just by training my ass off and eating right.

solid advice. goto the diet forum and post up a typical daily diet. and they will tear it apart and give you pointers where they are needed.. post up your training routine and it will be looked at here. after that you will have a solid footing on how to go about making your goals. GL and keep us updated

Sorry didn't get pictures last night been workin my ass off lately. My diet is really nothing right now truthfully i have been just trying to eat more and have been doing so, but its nothing special. I eat fast food throughout my day because of my job, but at night and in the mornings i try to stick to eating pretty healthy. I have been taking my pre-workout drink of supercharge, but thats it. My training I stick to same routine every week, Monday: Chest/Back Tuesday:Arms/Shoulders Wednesday: Legs Thursday:Abs Friday: Cardio. Now when I do my legs and abs I always throw in some maybe arm workouts or chest workouts or back just mainly things I feel I need to improve on. Same as my Saturdays and Sundays go I just use those days for improvement, so if I think I need work on my arms or certain part of my arms then I will use Thursday-Sunday to improve those few things.

you can do chest twice a week, then once the next week while doing back twice that week. legs can be done twice a week too. everything else just stick to once a week since they are smaller muscle groups, they get worked enough while doing chest or back. Really try and improve your diet. Try making food or sandwiches the night before and bring them with your. a few roast beef sandiwched one multi grain bread ( or chickecn or turkey, or tuna) shuold be fine! remember diet is everything for building a solid foundation! :)
