Neurologically unactivated muscles

I had incurred shoulder pain lowering weight from a clean and jerk and has led me to researching why....

Upon examining both shoulders I have a much larger right shoulder and there are a few it seems like strands of no muscle in between a nice lean deltoid on my left.

Pain flares up during benching.

Could this be my mind overactivating anterior deltoid and atrophying mid delt to protect against injury?

I'm also thinking adhesions/scar tissue. When I massage the shoulder it ends up hurting as well- and thus I ice.

Can I manually do muscle activation technique?

Could I be doing more damage massaging it?

Thankkk you!

I usually start getting pains on my right shoulder and lower back when I lift heavy with low reps for a long time....specially when I add allot of mass
once I start lifting lighter weight with more reps and stick with it for a while it heals

Oh thats wonderful to hear.

Did you ever have flare ups even with light weight?

u will the first week or 2 but it will eventually go away with time
when u get on a cycle and add allot of strength it will put allot of stress on your body specially if u were lifting heavy with lower reps the whole time
when u get back to ur heavy lifting again dont expect to be able to be just as strong as before on your first week...it will take a week or 2 to get your ligaments to get use to the heavy load again...the same way u have to get your breathing use to the lighter weight more reps
this next cycle am doing is gonna be mostly lighter weight with more reps this time and am gonna take it easy on the curls when I go heavy
I know some really huge guys who only lift with lighter weight and aim for 12-15 reps on cycle...and they can get 3 plates on their bench press
