Hey bros. I did a injection in my delt thursday and did not workout that day. I Put around 2ccs of test into it. and it when in almost all the way and it taped a nerve when i was pushing it in. it made my muscle twitch. but then it stoped. injection burned but i finished it. I am sore in the middle of the latteral delt from the top of the acromnon process to the insersion of the delt on my brachelaus. delt is still sore and im worred that this is perminint or if its temp nerve truma. any thoughs all?

how do you know its not actually nerve damage...besides going to a doc..and getting MRI/CAT scans? strenth test...ROM movment?

do you have numbness, limited movement, etc.?

I've had my delts twitch on numerous occassions. I always end up being fine.

strange thing is its super sore in a stripe of the middle of the lateral delt, but its strong and had perfect ROM. no numbness im aware of. but when i touch the sore spot. its super sore.

What kind of test are you shooting? Test prop can hurt like a MOTHER.

2cc personally I dont and wouldnt recommend more than 1cc in the delts. There are not a whole lot of nerves that run through your delts, though there are some. Likely that the pressure of whatever you were injecting was putting added pressure on the nerve. as long as you still have full ROM and can feel sensations such as a feather lightly rubbing on the skin, a pin prick, and pressure such as your finger on your skin. If you can feel this on all parts of your arm you'll be fine.

doubt its nerve damage if you have no strength loss. Nerve damage usually leaves the arm feeling heavy. Sometimes when you inject you are too close to the outer of the muscle and it can really hurt.

Yeah, 2cc's is a lot for a delt shot. Are you using UG lab stuff? That always tended to make me sorer, maybe b/c of higher BA used?

I think you have nothing to worry about. I've had the same symptoms where I'll get sore a few inches down from the injection site. Almost like the oil travels down there, and then "pools". Stays sore for about 3 days.

Nerve damage would affect ROM and strength pretty quickly. I doubt, from what you've posted, that you have nerve damage. those times when I've had nerve issues (never from injections), it's been dramatic - not "sore" but immediate "oh-oh, can't move that way at all" kind of thing.

Even if you made a direct hit on the nerve, it'll heal. Severed myelinated nerve endings can reattach and continue function. Don't sweat it.
