When I start up xp all of my cpu is used up by rundll32.exe running about 30 times.I always have to end each one of them manually in task manager to even get windows to function.???

Click on "start" then "run" then type in msconfig and then click on "start-up" tab and see if it is something loading that can be disabled.

Learned that from jnuts!:)

Oh yeah...I'm not a nerd either. I am as novice as you are!:D

weird...if im understanding correctly you could try this.....

go to STart > RUN> MSCONFIG...then go to the startup tab and see if any unnecessary stuff is checked off to run, if so uncheck them and reboot.

Standard drill....

Download and run spybot and/or adaware, you are probably infected with some form of spyware.

If you don't have any anti-virus sofware, download some and run a scan or your computer.
