I agree, I've taken potshots when it was probably not called for and did not benefit the discussion at hand.
But you can't just let a few people manipulate the entire tone of the board.
Many noobs that are easily influenced latch on to info. and don't always second guess it.

I think everybody needs to be a little more accepting of others opinions and views on differant issues.
