Just curious as to your thoughts. It's something I keep hearing more and more about, and I understand WSB and other routines have cycling variations.

I do believe in it, I just suck at doing it as I have trouble not going balls to the wall every time I train. The most common way I do it is when I feel like I need a break, I drop the weights and do the 5x5 progressive resistance thing. That way the first few weeks the weight are light, but as I add weight week to week I start to grow again. I did the same thing after my show, only am following a different set/rep scheme. Now almost 5 weeks later my strength is almost the best its ever been and climbing every workout, and I am the biggest I've ever been

???

Could you elaborate a bit more? I'm not sure I follow what you're saying as far progeessive resistance. Could you give an example? Thanks.

What he means is he starts a 5x5 system with a weight he knows he can do all sets without a problem, then adds 5 pounds every week until he gets to the point where the last 2-3 sets are pretty much to failure.

In other words he cycles intensity by starting with a moderate weight and working up to a heavy weight over several weeks.

Need a bit more detail

Sorry to be such a pain in the ass, but I'm very intrigued by power-lifting type routines as I've finally started to use on AND see results. I just want learn everything I can to master different routines, or at least have a better understanding. What percenatge of the current weight would you suggest cutting back to? Thanks.

This time its not really a strength based routine. After my show my strength was in the shitter anyway, so I dropped all the weights down, and started doing 2 sets to failure on everything, and adding 10-20lbs per week. ie, the week after the show, I had a brutal time trying to bench 225 for 2 sets. But every week I added 10lbs and was getting pretty easy sets of 8-10 reps. Today was the 5th workout back, and I benched 305lbs for an easy 8, then 6 reps. I'm not training heavy, but am growing as I keepa dding weight every week
