Need WIN98 install help fast

I don't have the product code for installation of WIN98, not the upgrade. I had to fdisk a machine and reinstall windows. The people that sold my company the machines kept the Certificate of Authenticity on all 20 of the machines so I am trying to get around using them so they can't charge us a service call. I can't get on the warez and crackz sites with all the porn.

I thought there was a place in the windows folder that would tell you the product code(ie: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx for the total install not the upgrade), but I can't remember what it is.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion, under the ProductKey value.

That's the registration code.

Because when i take my Windows 2000 key that comes with the CD (it's a special map) it is clearly different from the product key as you say.

But i don't want to argue about it. Strange?
