Steal as much as you can.

pasta and beans.

I think I lived on chilli, angel hair pasta and water all throughout college.

I haven't have angel hair pasta in over ten years - can't bring myself to eat it.

Look for sales on butcher items and produce and shop smart - check out flyers, stuff like that.

Roomate, drop either your cell phone or home phone. tuna cans, don`t buy bottled water....

Oh and you could make chicken soup & root veggies with pasta or rice.

Make the soup, divide it up into individual servings in container and then add some pre-cooked rice or pasta when you heat it up.

$15 you can have a week worth of lunch and it's good for you.

yeah a roommate or 3 is good.

i would shop around for rent, try roommates.com and try to find the cheapest rent in town that you can.

Record every time you spend money and what for. Most people don't realize how much they waste until they write down every time they spend money.

This is the most useful tip so far, and I doubt it will be topped. Im gonna try and do that.

Stop drinking soda - sub in water all the time. Fill up a gallon water jug at your school's/company water cooler.

If you are eating at a cafeteria - take extra sandwiches and other non-perishables out in your bag.

Drink at parties for free (if you need to drink at all).

Plan out your meals for the week - shop accordingly and stick to the plan.

Grocery shop using store sale ads -- buy in bulk items you will use & freeze for later.....ie around here Shop Rite will have a "Can Can" & I buy a case of beans, mushrooms, etc & make chili & freeze in containers for lunches etc.....

Buy TP & paper towels when on sale only & in bulk (ie 24 rolls for $3.99 type thing) laundry det. for $1.99 --- Even if you don't need it (as long as you have a place to store it.....

Use bleach & vinegar for cleaning or buy cleaners at the dollar store

Don't eat out as much....buy cheaper beer.....don't buy soda....cut coupons & use the coupon only when the item is also on sale then you get double coupons & you get it for very little.....

And I agree with previous poster....write down your income for the week or bi week (income) then write down your expenses for that period & budget yourself & cut corners where necessary

Ramon noodles... I ate that shit literly for months.

I was 16 when I left home and that's the cheapest food there was.

Still to this day almost 12 years later, if I even smell it I come close to puking.

Wipe your ass with your hands and then just wash. Will save you 5 to 10 bucks a month on toilet paper.
