Need some standing leg curl advice.

The gym I lift at doesn't have a machine for this and I don't like doing these on cables, too awkward. Has anyone tried these on a 4 way hip machine or done these lifts any other way.

Also, is there any noticeable difference between the lying and standing.

Hey I got a great idea! Why not do some real ham mass builders like GHR's and RDL's. Rdl's tear my hams up and also will help greatly with your deadlift strength.

Probably because that's a very unique lift IMO and finding a setup is a rarity.

what do you mean findind a setup is a rarity? u just need a bar and some floor space and a load of weights. use 35lb plates so u can go low and get a nice ham stretch, keep your knees very slight bent and your back completely flat, feels the hams stretch then explode back up and squeeze hams and glutes, then lower slowly and repeat. Side effect is improved grip stength and forearm size. Its a sick lift bro give it a try

Do what are called natural or ghetto GHR by getting you training partner to sit on your calves as you do bodyweight negative hamstring curls off the bench.

I think I'll give this a shot, actually kinda excited to go lift tomorrow now.

IIRC when you bend at the hips, it isolates the hams more, but drops your poundage quite a bit of course. It can be a killer movement. If your gym has a leg extention you should be able to set it up to do standing curls. You assume sort of a donkey calf raise position, emphasize peak contraction at the top of the movement. Done correctly you can get a vicious pump in your hams from just one set.

Because they isolate so much though they can overtrain hams if you don't use them sparingly.

Here's the best advice I got on leg curls:

DON'T DO THEM

Because NOT doing them definitely is better than doing them...or not.
