Need some good bro advice

ok, here is my situation. I'm 25, had almost finished my degree in computer science two years ago when i decided it wasn't what i wanted to do the rest of my life. I've always worked light/heavy construction and have been running my own construction company for some time. I have been working on a degree in engineering through online/distance learning. My current contract with a company building a power plant is pretty sweet but one thing that bothers me more and more daily is.........I never really got to experience college life. I went for one year and i was on a bball scholarship so i couldn't do much, got injuried and have been doing online/night classes since then. I'm seriously thinking of selling all my "toys" and going back full time. I could buy a shitty house on campus and flip it (been doing this for 6 years) for my income.

Has anybody else done anything like this? Gone back to school full time when you were older? I envy all my friends to got to experience this shit

the worst part of it all is i have a pretty large contract i could possibly get at the end of this year, but i dunno if it is worth the "what if" i'll think about the rest of my life.

well, bro.... I can tell you for sure, without a doubt, 100% accuracy, that if your going back to party, that's not the motivation to have. Going back to get a degree, or post grad work, anything to further your career or intellect, that's where it's at. Learn new drinking games and act like a kid, your stuck on stupid. Especially when you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and are making a good living for yourself.

looking to do both . i want to get school FINISHED but i never use to party, hell i just started drinking about a year ago. i've always been so absorbed into work and my other projects.

Best advice: Follow your heart. This might seem like it's out of a disney movie, but it's the only way you'll be happy. Do what makes you happy and what you want. You're only 25. You're young and have an entire life to fill with stupid mistakes. Going back to university is not one of them. It's is a choice. A good choice. University life is the golden years.

Listen to the voice of your elders, namely me. A 25 year old heart may not make decisions for the right reasons. You get an education, campus classes, on-line, or correspondance, whatever works, the partying can be done after hours. Fun is where you make it, doesn't have to be at the expense of a job.
Partying, by the very nature of the word, is fun. Did it ever help me get ahead or advance my career, NO.

If at 25 you feel like you have taken on too much responsibility, cut back on your work load. Don't take the harder jobs that last years, etc. Hell, just flip houses if you can keep your bills paid, then go to school to learn. The partying will be there, whever you are. TCB first.............

I worked full time while I finished both my undergrad and graduate degree. My undergrad took a lot of creative scheduling as I had some classes in the middle of the day, but I was lucky that my employer was willing to work with me.

For my M.S. I did a program designed for working professionals, so that worked out well, but it was year round and I had some sort of school related work to do pretty much every night of the week.

I say just do it and get it over with man, whatever you decide, either finish up your CSE or get the Engineering degree, but go for it sooner rather than later.

and we HAVE a winner! sometimes things just pass you buy, one reason or another, age, intelect, responsibilities.

That never applies to college or any education though. Eighteen or eighty, you want to go to school, do it.

Actually, I knew a guy who did this. His was a wonderful story. Guy was originally from CT. Never took school seriously; fucked around in High School. After he got out, he worked construction jobs, did a lot of boozing prolly some drugs. One day he decided he wanted more and quit drinking and fuckin around. He had to LITERALLY BEG to be let into one of the jr. colleges near his home. He went back & got about a 4.0. Then he starts sending out applications to 4-year schools and he shoots for the stars. He must have won our admissions committee over with his story because they admitted him, and we tend not to be a school where people go after community college, so this was something special. He came in during my sophomore year, lived in the residence halls, and started at age 25. He joined a frat, had a great time, worked his ass off to keep up academically, and did well. He graduated with my class in '99.

On a side note, though painfully str8, he was stacked like a brick-shithouse, had a flawless body (they physically fought over him at that pledge auction), and was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.

dude I got a GED when I was 16 and didnt even go to college till I was 25.. I went for computers used to like them now do not really like them but the money isnt too bad..

Would I go to just go? fuck that my student loan payments are already rediculous.
