Need some cumputer help -- ISO files

i take it its a PC game right?

you may need the cue or bin file for it. i downloaded black and white for pc, but it was completly broke up and i just had to click on an icon saying start white.

Im pretty sure you'll need to burn it to a disk using nero or something like that..

go to File, Burn Image, and then choose the iso.

There are also programs like UltraISO that will let you extract files from the ISO..

IMO the best bet is to burn it to a disk and then do what you want from there (copy it back to HD)

do i need a .cue file to burn an ISO??? or is that only with bin files?

I hate getting the bin without the cue file... the damn cue's are only 1k but sometimes take forever to find

Unpack it with ISOBUSTER and then install it as you would a regular game.

you need the cue or bin file... its usually extrememly small like 10kb. Use Isobuster also.. great program, or you can use any CD Burning program. Just burn it as an image and youre done.

consider the possibility that you are dealing with copy-protection. you might want to go to one of the many sites that deal with game copy protection (gamecopyworld.com comes to mind) and look up that game to see if you might get clues on this (usually it will either identify the files that are copy-protected, or identify the symptoms). but in the end, if you find that it IS copy protected, you will probably also find someone who managed to hack the executable and has it posted at one of these sites....

in this case, its just a matter of getting the "crack" file, following directions, and voila, you have a fully functional game...

seems hard till the third time you do it ...


also, never underestimate the power of search engines (google, teoma).... copy the least common words in the error you are getting (eg, if it says "Stop 0x00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA", and your machine is windows, you would type "0x00000050" and you might get a good idea of where to go from there ...

in your case, i'd input the game name, the EXACT error, and the format .... it might help, and if it doesn't, it will sometime on something else ....

I get all my games from emule.

If a file is corrupt, it automatically downloads said part again.

An ISO, BIN, or CUE is a disc image file. If you are using Nero (for example) as you burning software then you select burn image and select the ISO file in the file browser. You don't copy the file or anything. Quite often ISOs are bigger than the disc you burn them to but they still fit on the disk because it don't quite have to do with the size of the file.
