Need input; does chest training alone shrink your boobs

Ladies,

Now I know most of you that know me are thinking, why would he ask such a question when he knows the answer, but I have a new client that believes that if you work your chest (benches, flyes, etc.) that your boobs will shrink. This is without steroids or changing bodyfat, just doing chest work.

Has anyone ever noticed a decrease in breast size, solely as a function of working chest?

No! Mine look bigger and certainly " stand up" more than before wt training. Of course they do get that rock in a sock look when dieting down-but don't tell her that!-Valerie

I have never seen chest training shrink anyone's chest (man or women). On the contrary, it can nicely fills out the top of the breasts that can become a little flat with age/gravity/breastfeeding etc...

This is kinda offtopic a little, but I have implants and after having our kid, they dropped massivly, my friend got surgery done to have her's put back into place, I went back to the gym and I literally perked them back up in like 3 months of flat bench and incline press, you could actually see them moving up, and now, they point straight forward just like when I got them. :)

p.s. and of course it would not change the size of natural boobs at all, that is just stupid thinking :)

Personally, I love my muscle cleavage - makes up for not being naturally well endowed. In other words, weight training has made my breasts better, baby!

The only thing that seems to make any dramatic difference in my breast size is diet. As for perkiness, they do seem to stay up there better than they did before - I prefer them dieted down because of that. But no, simply chest training didn't make an iota of difference.

I think chest work can only improve breasts. The breast tissue sits on top of the pecs, and training the pecs and getting that muscle group harder/larger gives the breasts a firmer foundation on which to sit.

What does this new client base this belief on???

I think we've discussed ad naseum the topic of not being able to "spot reduce" so shouldn't the same concept apply to the boob area???
