need help with bench weak point

I have a lot of trouble about 6-7 inches off my chest so I need a lot of advice on how to strengthen it. This area has not gotten any stronger for too long. The bottom few inches is pretty strong but could still use a little work, and I don't need any help with the lockout.

It seems that I was able to double the strength of my lockout within a couple weeks but I can’t find anything that is nearly that effective for the middle.

board presses, pin lockouts from that point up. etc. work the crap out of your tris, it sounds like you need to overdevelop your lockout.

6-7 inches sounds like you need to work some floor presses maybe

Hey Tiervexx! Im no expert, but speed benches sound like they'd help. It seems the extra acceleration Ive developed has helped me blast through the bottom and mid portions alot easier now. My lockout has become my weak point now. Could be the NO2 though also! Hope that helps

sounds like your lockout strength is fine...i would just work on your lats, floor presses, boards and maybe some incline presses

Not an expert on this, but I would work on speed to blast through the sticking point. Also maybe reverse band bench. It helped me to learn to accelerate all the way through the upper portion of the movement

I don't have any bands or chains.

I like the idea of working more on speed. That and floor presses should help the most.

thank you everyone. If I can get my weak point up to par with my lock out my bench should jump another 20 lbs or so because after getting past my sticking point the bar shoots up like a rocket.
