Need help on weight lifting schedual!!!

I recently acuired a buddy to lift with and he has lifted off and on nothing steady so I wanted to give him one of my work outs with less weight but I think its to much what do you guys think? Anyhelp changes etc.....PLEASE!
Bench 190lbx8x8
incline 190lbx8x8
decline190lb8x8
thats most of the chest I gave him for start. I can elaborate on anything you need me to just need help dont want to do the wrong thing and he is strong and wants more power.

24 sets of chest? Wow...That is a ton to me...and I am on cycle!

Try 3x8 or even 4x8...You shouldn't need that many sets.
 
Yeah, you might want to take it easy on him for a few weeks to let him get used to hitting it again. 24 sets is a lot and maybe he can't do that much weight, either. I'd have him try 135# and see how he does. Go up from there. Also......see Musketeer's post.
 
youll be burnt out after a week...

do chest 2x a week, once 5x5 or 4x6, then a second time of 10x3 with either 50% of your max for speed, or 80% of your max for strength

p.s. squat and deadlift more
 
Great help guys I usually do a lot for strength and I thought he could do my sets but with less weight. But I agree that he needs to start with low reps I think he will have no problem with 190. 190 isnt a whole lot of weight really for him he is 185 and about 5'8" so he has a good build for it and he had benched 300 somethin near their or so. I am gonna try and give karma to all!!!! Thanks for the help very much and feel free to throw in anything else I can help this guy with he is a good friend and I dont want him to not suceed in his goal wich is strength and size.
